Hi Everyone:
First time post response for me, but a long time reader and listener at SI.
In response to the sisters question, 2 Chronicles 7:14, is our only hope of getting the Lord to turn our captivity, not only as a Nation, but first, as individuals, then as a church.
I hear many say, "Judgement is coming!", No, we are in the midst of judgement, God has already turned the Nation and the church over to a reprobate mind and a spirit of delusion. Judgement has already started at the house of God, God help us if we can't see it.
With that said, God knows who are His, and He will provide for, deliver, protect, heal, and save His sheep as long as we maintain the conditions as outlined in the above scripture.
I believe one of the reasons we have same sex marriage in this country is because we, as His church, have not held up the sanctity of true covenant marriage as God defined it. Hence, since we were not faithful stewards in upholding and fighting for this truth God has sent a delusion upon the people that they would believe a lie and has allowed the definition of one man and one woman to be perverted. As the church has mocked God, He is now mocking the church. (I speak of those who only profess to know Him in word)
Things that were not allowed, accepted, or even spoken of when I was a child are now being done in excess.
Do we as a body of believers understand that the warnings of Paul in 2Timothy 3:1-9 and Romans 1:22-32 are speaking to believers? He is defining the behavior of those who profess Christ.
There is no question in my mind that our President was put in office by God. However, as wicked a ruler as he may seem (is), he IS a reflection of the heart of the people.
So is it wrong to pray that God turn our captivity or high health insurance premiums? For me, my hope and allegiance is not found in any country, nation, or union in this world, but solely in God's Kingdom.
Because this thread is about Obamacare, I will say this, If Obamacare goes away, I will praise God, if it doesn't I will praise Him ever more. I just want my heart to be right and don't want to misjudge the heart of another.
I also Amen the stepping out in faith and availing ourselves to the bodily healing that Christ already purchased and atoned for in His own blood. For He not only forgives all of our iniquities, but Healeth all our diseases.
