Jews ordered to register in east Ukraine

Jews in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk where pro-Russian militants have taken over government buildings were told they have to "register" with the Ukrainians who are trying to make the city become part of Russia, according to Ukrainian and Israeli media.

Jews emerging from a synagogue say they were handed leaflets that ordered the city's Jews to provide a list of property they own and pay a registration fee "or else have their citizenship revoked, face deportation and see their assets confiscated," reported Ynet News, Israel's largest news website.

Thank you for posting this, I was just about to do the same.

Coming soon... Will Christians register when they are asked to?

Will we call some of them "bad Christians" if they don't obey?

The early church did with joy.

Hebrews 10:34
New International Version (NIV)
34 You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.

Brother, that is a beautiful text. One I use to check my attitude when it comes to governmental decisions.

If these Jews are the only group of people being asked to register would they be in the right if they did not do so?

It has fearful undertones in my opinion.

I think we all admire folks who put their lives on the line before and during WW2 to rescue Jews who they believed were destined for extermination. Is not registering a precursor to eventual extermination? Thorny questions and I for one do not like them - either.

What say about this possibility?

Greetings

On a personal level this is a "what if" questions and for the most part I do try to stay away from them. I honestly don't have an answer of what I would in "what if" scenario. I can answer with how I think I would respond and how in CHRIST I would hope I would respond but in the end I trust if I find myself in that kind of situation the HOLY SPIRIT would lead me to know what to say.

Yes, I know, MaryJane, but I can't help but think about it when I watch "The Hiding Place".

The Bible says in Galatians that there is "no such law", when it comes to the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

What are the implications of that?

If you speed are you breaking God's law? If you don't wear a seatbelt (like David Wilkerson) are you breaking God's law? If you hide Jews and deceive the Germans about it, did you sin?

Does thinking about it give you peace in the LORD JESUS? Does it further your walk in HIM or help bring about HIS KINGDOM? I ask Justin because for me it causes fear, panic, and worry. I find when I give into "imagining what if's" I take my eyes off of KING JESUS and put them on the circumstance instead. I realized some time ago this is not what GOD wants for me so I leave the "what if's" to HIM. I place my faith in JESUS and trust that when the storms come(and I know they will) HE will be there. HE will in that moment give me wisdom and words and understanding. HE did for Stephen, and Peter, and Paul. I trust HE will for me as well.

As for the last questions you asked, I can only respond by saying GOD knows the heart of those who have already passed and I do not. It is not my place to make judgments and really it does nothing to bring about HIS KINGDOM in doing so...

Just my thoughts. Thank you for sharing yours.

God bless
mj
