A Thread Request of an Oral History of the Anabaptists

Could somebody please pull up the thread that has the links to Denny Kenniaton`s series on An Oral History of the Anabaptist.

Just listened to the first message. Thus is rich stuff with app for today. Need to listen again and absorb. Definitely this series worth listening to. Not dry history.

Went back and listened again to the first message by Denny Kenniston on Christ in the Early Anabaptist. Very rich food for the soul. As I said in previous post this is not dry theology but a living history.

In this first message Denny sets forth the need to study the biographies of past saints who have lived out that dying witness for Jesus Christ. Brother Denny says that a martyr is one who lives a dying life for the Lord Jesus Christ. He shows the Anabaptist doing this.

I had to listen to the message twice and no doubt several times to gleam the rich truth found here. And there are 5 more messages.

Though these messages were given in 2008 and brother Denny has passed on the glory, the truth contained here is just as relevant today as when he gave them in 2008.

Again brothers and sisters I would commend this excellent series. This is a living history that enriches the soul and inspires us to imitate those who follow Christ.

One of the things that Denny said was the same God who worked so powerfully among the Anabaptists will work among us today. All He is looking for is surrendered hearts who will be willing to live out that dying life for Christ. In other words to be a martyr for Him. Though it may mean one may spill their blood for Jesus, the impact such a martyred life well have will impact eternity.

The impact of the Anabaptists, sometimes called the Radical Reformers, had on Europe was profound. Their witness impacted eternity. Many people were brought to faith in Jesus through the testimony of the Anabaptists.

The world cries desperately for those who will live totally surrendered to the will of God. One can only imagine what God can do if such could be found.

One snowy night 12 brothers what to the home a Felix Manz. After much intense prayer spent on their knees the presence of God overwhelmed these brothers. One brother, George Bkarock, after much soul-searching, asked Felix Mans to baptize him as a believer in Jesus Christ. This followed the other brothers asking for believers baptism. The result of this action of following Christ would bring these brothers the person and ultimately their death. But the course these 12 brothers chartered what brand much fruit for eternity.

What that God today would raise up 12 more such saints who would be willing to be faithful un to Him. Even to death. But the impact would have profound fruit for eternity.

I just listened to the 2nd Message of this rich series entitled Theology Verses Anabaptist Reality. In this message Brother Denny sets out the differences between the Reformers and the Anabaptist. The Reformers were concerned about right belief. More a theology of the mind. The Anabaptist were more concerned about right living. A theology of obeying Christ from.the heart.

The Anabaptist believed one should be born again by the Holy Spirit. Such a new birth will give rise to a radical obedience to Christ. An obedience that will cause one to turn away from sin and turn to God to.live by faith in Christ.

Denny goes to preaching in this second message and it us quite powerful. Again saints this is rich truth for the soul.

I hope others are listening to this series. If so please share your thoughts on this thread. The Anabaptist have been over looked and maligned even to this day. I believe this is of Satan. Brother Denny through these messages is bringing the contribution of these forgotten saints to light.

Just.listened s second time to brother Denny`s message, Theology vs Anabaptist Reality. Again saints, rich food for the soul. Stirs in ny heart a longing for the type if life these brethren had. A longing for the reality and substance of Jesus to live in my heart.

Oh that God would grant to me more of Him to be like Christ.

Brethren I just listened to the third message by brother Denny Kenniston in this marvelous series.

In his third message Denny speaks of the total surrender of the Anabaptists brethren. He uses a German word that I am not sure how to spell. But that word conveys total surrender, abandonment, resignation to the will of God.

He starts by showing how Jesus was completely surrendered to the will of the Father. So surrendered to His will that he went to the cross. Then Denny shows how the Anabaptists followed in the steps of Jesus to be completely surrendered to His will. So surrendered that they suffered martyrdom.

This is an excellent message. It certainly is food for the soul. And certainly one to challenge our hearts in this day in age.

If any have not heard the series I would certainly commend it. This Oral History of the Anabaptist should lay to rest any notion that these brethren were heretics.
