Great Peace

Great peace have they who love Thy Law but how is this peace known
When all is fair, spring in the air, and lovely flowers grown
Great peace for sure will yet endure if cast into the fire
When pain and grief without relief, we feel the devil’s ire

Yes peace so great while facing hate will calm surrender make
as self denied is crucified, His suffering cup we take
Great peace is real when strong as steel our heart accepts the rod
And holds its form while being torn by men chosen from God

To know great peace we must release our hope to know no loss
And look to Him despised by men and join Him on His cross
Then just like He, we will be free to do our Father’s will
And with great peace through pain increase into His image still
