False Suppositions Regarding The Holy Spirit

D
docseth1 May 16, 2014

We live in a time of false suppositions regarding the Holy Spirit. It is a time when it is supposed that ......
- We can have the Holy Spirit without Him having us.
-The Spirit can be at our disposal, but we do not have to be at His.
- We can have His tongues, but it is okay that He does not have ours.
- We can have His fullness, but it is okay to give Him a small fraction of our self.
- We can have the Holy Spirit without His holiness.
- We can have the Spirit's teaching, but learning is optional.
- We can have the Spirit's guidance, but relying on His leadership is for when we are out of other options.
- We can have the Spirit's gifts without His fruit.
These are all false suppositions.

Remember, the Holy Spirit is not our puppet or personal genie. We do not get to control Him; He controls us. We are not in charge; He is. We do not get to make the rules; He does. We do not get to dissect the Holy Spirit and keep only those areas of Him that we like the most. He will come as He is entirely or not at all.

The Holy Spirit has come to empower us, equip us and transform us into the image of Jesus. This will only happen when we come to the point of absolute surrender to Him and His working in our life.

Abandon the false and pursue what is true.
