NEW: SermonIndex Software For Downloading Sermons!

sermonindex May 20, 2014

Genesis 41:49 Joseph stored up huge quantities of grain, like the sand of the sea; it was so much that he stopped keeping records because it was beyond measure.

Saints,

The Lord spoke through a brother that he saw SermonIndex as the grain in Joseph’s day. That was many months ago and recently a brother shared that he felt led to compile a software program for SermonIndex so believers could download sermons easily to their computer and then share them with others. I believe this is one way the Lord is going to fulfill the word He spoke towards SermonIndex being like the grain of Joseph in the end-times. As many churches are ceasing to preach the truth and society as a whole is becoming abusive towards the Good News of Jesus Christ. There will be less avenues to access God’s word and godly sermons that will edify God’s people.

We are encouraging all believers who have a computer to download this software and download many sermons to their computer hard-drives. From there you can listen to sermons easily and also download ALL the sermons of one speaker easily. Our heart in this is that God’s people would be able to share these resources with many and have them stored like grain for a time when even SermonIndex.net itself might not be available. This will also provide multiple back-ups of SermonIndex across the world.

You are free also to re-upload and share these messages on your own website or blog. May God’s word run and be glorified in these days of famine of

The software can be downloaded for all computer platforms and requires Java installed on your computer.

About how much total gigabytes are there?

About how much total gigabytes are there?

Brother, the total is about 250 GB's of mp3 sermons. We are praying and trusting some saints will feel led to completely backup SermonIndex on their computer in their location. It will be wonderful to have hundreds and thousands of these full backup's of SermonIndex in different locations in the world.

Also it will make it easy for saints to share the sermons by copying them to USB thumbnail drives, ie copying all the Tozer and Ravenhill Sermons to a thumbnail drive to share with others and have them copy it to their computer.

Brother, I know you have many sermons downloaded already trust this will help you download more. There is a "select all' function for each speaker so if you choose Leonard Ravenhill and press "select all" then "start" you will download ALL of his sermons it might take an hour or 2 or more depending on how fast your connection is.

It would be helpful to post instructions about how to use the software once it's installed.

How do you access the sermons from the program? Is it supposed to be automatic?

Dear brother,

I am going to be God willing in the next 1-3 days posting a few help videos for the software.

How do you access the sermons from the program? Is it supposed to be automatic?

What platform are you using? You will need to ensure your computer is connected to the internet when you load the program for the first time because it downloads the 3 MB file of all the sermons. It should automatically load them in, you will see a popup saying that it is installing the update, just wait till it says completed and press OK.

Dear Brother,

Please try uninstall and re-install the software again. Uninstaller is located in the same folder where you have installed the software.

Please let us know if you see still face issue.

What operating system are you using? If you are using linux or mac you could get the zip file from User/Sermon_Cache/Temp and unpack the zip in the /Sermon_Cache/ folder. This would be a manual way if it was not working on your system.

It would be good to know from others how the software is working and what operating system you are using? Who is able to have it loaded well and downloading sermons?

S
sherebyah May 21, 2014

Small correction...

Folder where you can find ZIP file is user/sermonindex_cache/temp and will need to be unpacked in the user/sermonindex_cache folder.

works for me. downloaded one Wilkerson sermon to test it. Using windows 8

it did freeze while it was updating "Check For Updates" and I wasn't sure what was wrong until it finished.

also when it defaulted to install in "Program Files" it said something about not being able to install it there (permissions?). So I changed directory to "Libraries\\Documents\\SermonDownloader" and it worked

plays the sermon I downloaded. best of luck perfecting this software.

Thanks

====

====

While application updates cache, based on the speed of your internet connection it will take time and you would see it being frozen for that time, which is expected.

When you are running App for the first time there is no need to hit "Check for Updates" explicitly as App will do it for you and you should see message "Applying updates" under the menu bar.

=====

It denied to install under Program Files is because of permission you might have on the PC you are using. If you are not running installer as an Administrator than you are likely to see that message.

uninstalled it and then installed the new version. It works now ;-)

Thank you, it now works for me as well.

If I may request a feature for the next version, it would be nice to be able to change the download directory.
