PRAYER PLEASE

mama27 Sep 2, 2014

I haven't posted for some time, and can't find my original thread as there's no search mechanism. There are so many needs that I have not wanted to burden you all about my family. For those who remember my situation of 2 prodigal sons from back in 2010, I sincerely thank you for praying. I have seen God move in some ways that really blessed me. But things continue to spiral downward into the world, into carnality, into disrespect for parents, into a daughter about to marry wrong, into hostility, into anything the enemy can concoct in his schemes to destroy a Christian home and family. I come to you again for prayer against what the enemy is doing in my home and family, asking that the Holy Spirit would sweep through my family as only He can do to save the unsaved, and to return the saved to holiness and truth in their walk. And if anyone has faith, I am asking God to intervene that our daughter would not marry this young man that we believe is wrong for her. It is scheduled for November.....The days are surely evil. May God be glorified in the darkest of situations. Many times I think I cannot possibly hang on... Thank you, Friends, from the bottom of my heart.....

I remember your last post and have been praying since then regularly for you and your situation . Yes it is getting darker and darker in this world but "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?…

May you find some comfort and divine strength.
It is time to go to work here in new Zealand, but will continue to follow the thread. Blessings

Thank you to all who prayed from the depths of my being. I also put a prayer request through last night to the Times Square prayer service. There is truly a battle in the spirit realm going on because the enemy came against my family with all his fury last night in the most unbelievable fighting among all of us such as is not fitting for followers of Christ. I have walked with God long enough to recognize it as coming from the pit of hell. I am so very weary of the battle. I know that I know that I know that God gave us these 7 children to raise up as warriors for Christ. We have been a walking target ever since we committed to do such. Thank you to those who have stood with me for so long. Maybe it is darkest before morning. I know satan is not giving up without a fight. When there is victory you all will be the first to know. And God will get all the glory...

May His sweetness saturate your heart as you walk through this.

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." - Psalm 23:4

I have hesitated to post this for several days, but we are down to the wire so I am humbling myself to come before you one last time on behalf of our daughter who is scheduled to marry next Saturday. We have just come thru a weekend of bridal showers, and many people have been praying for months that God would intervene and stop this marriage which I believe with all my heart is not God's best for my daughter. If anyone has faith for this, I am asking for prayer until she walks down that aisle next Sat, that God would impress on her heart, or the young man's heart, or send some divine circumstance or something to keep her from marrying wrong. I know that she is not mine, and I have tried my best to lay it on the altar, and that God can work any situation to good....but if anyone would be led to pray that God would intervene and stop this, I would appreciate it. Whatever God wills of course, but sometimes the powers of darkness need to be broken. I believe it is lies of the enemy that have her walking down this path....Thank you so much!

mama27 - God has the best interests of your daughter at heart, and I pray that He will intervene accordingly.

Praying for y'all.

Wanted to add this: I'm sorry this has happened. I really do hope that the wedding is halted and that everyone is okay. For whatever reasons, you see danger for your daughter and she's rushing toward it at breakneck speed against your advice and against your will. You're convinced that God is against the marriage.

I'm not a therapist or a mind-reader and I don't know you, but I do hear you. And, I know that as a dad, if my daughter were marrying someone I truly, prayerfully considered as not the husband God has for her, I'd be broken, too.

As a parent, then, I'm praying this:

Lord, you said there would be divisions and conflicts over you within families. You also promise that if we trust you and do not lean to our own understanding that you will direct our paths. You also say that our paths are to pursue peace with everyone. You arm us with peace and salvation and your Word and more. I pray for your peace for this family. For your healing to come swiftly to them.

I ask you to do as you have spoken, Lord (2 Sam. 7:25). You said that you would pour out water on thirsty land and streams on dry ground and that you would pour out your Spirit on our sons and daughters. (Isa. 44:3, 4). In due time, in Your time, in Your way, Lord, do this for mama27's daughter.

Do as you have spoken. You said, "I will contend with the ones who contend with you." Is. 49:25. Lord, there is a contention in this family now, and a contention in the heart of this daughter to do as she wills. Contend with the heart of this daughter, and bring her to peace in You, and bring her to stop this wedding for now, if it be your will, Lord. If you are doing more than she can understand and see, then let mama27 by grace through faith have peace! Contend with her!! Bring even her to peace in You in this. Intervene for mama27. Comfort her with the understanding that is greater than knowledge that you are sovereign in this matter. Call her to your peace.

Do as you have spoken, Lord. You said, "Awake, o sleeper, arise from the dead and Christ will shine on you ... be filled with the Spirit." Eph. 5:14, 18. Wake up from slumber this daughter and shine on her and fill her with your Spirit. And it isn't as if You cannot do this if she's married to her betrothed -- we know you can and do. We ask that you do.

Do as you've spoken, Lord. Pour out your Spirit on mama27's daughter, cause her even against her own intuition and thoughts to prophesy (Acts 2:15-17) so that she gains understanding of her decision. And, if not, Lord, then pour yourself upon her and cause her to speak your Word anyway. Save her, fill her with your Spirit. And, whether she marries or not, save the young man, too!

Do as you have spoken, Lord. You are not slow to fulfill your promises as some count slowness, but you are patient toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9. Multiply over and again that patience in mama27, in her daughter even. Cause this young woman to come to life in you; bring the would-be groom to you. Cause mama27 to be a wellspring of sweetness to them that --- like my own mother-in-law was to this hellion when I was a lost young man -- wins them over and wins him over to you. Use mama27 to win not only her daughter's heart to you, but this man who would marry her daughter if they do marry. Show mama27 that if her daughter marries him, a new mama27 may need to be transformed more into the image of Jesus in order to reach her new son-in-law for you. The reluctant missionary she may be for now, but overwhelm mama with love for him if they marry. Save them, Lord.

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I have prayed for years that God would save my children "from" and "for" His choice of spouse for them....HIS BEST.....(inspired by Elisabeth Elliot)....I am absolutely convinced that this young man is not that choice. Our daughter has ignored our counsel, we could not give our blessing. Several of our other children are against it, and people who have known her since a child are also dismayed at the choice. If I was not convinced, I would not ask this prayer. I am having great trouble knowing how to pray because I so want to pray in faith, believing....and yet I want not my will, but His will to be done. They both profess Christ, but have not acted in any way according to the principles at least our daughter was raised on. I am praising, and knowing that God can work in ANY situation for our good and His glory. I want to honor Him in my innermost being... BLESS YOU! The wedding is set for Sat. Nov. 15 at 11am cst

By all appearances, the wedding will go through. I failed at the rehearsal last night and came unglued. In addition to having to watch a daughter marry one who you believe is not right for her, I am having a faith crisis in that God could have chosen to stop this marriage. I had fasted and prayed a number of times trying to discern His will in the matter. I always came away with the same thing - no, this young man was not the one for her. God is God, and I am not. He is the Potter and I am the clay. Knowing these things and getting them down into your heart is a different matter. I would covet your prayers to get thru the morning and following days - I am really struggling. Thank you all....

They are married. I am struggling. I thank you all for praying. I stand on the fact that God is good, and His ways are higher than our ways...Bless you!

sermonindex Nov 16, 2014

Thank you for the update, will continue to pray. Yes His ways are higher then our ways. May I share a few more verses from scripture:

John 9:2 And His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?" 3Jesus answered, "It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

John 11:3 So the sisters sent word to Him, saying, "Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick." 4But when Jesus heard this, He said, "This sickness is not to end in death, but for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by it."

2 Peter 1:3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 4For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.…

Stay strong and remember Psalm 97:1 The LORD is king! Let the earth rejoice!

May He give you His peace and may He be near to you. Blessings!

Thank you for the scriptures, Markus...Looking for God to get glory out of this, for I certainly have nothing to offer....one of my daughters and I said it was the saddest day of our lives....God is bigger than our grief.
