This is one of my favorite sermons by Art Katz.

It is not easy to listen to. He would be run out of a lot of churches for preaching this message.

This sermon is one of the most "provoking" sermons i ever heard, Arts prophetic preaching cuts deep, and in this message it cuts so deep it either challenges you to the uttermost or will offend you.

Don't go out and shoot your dog, that is unless the Lord tells you too.

Just one small but very important point...God may tell one person to shoot his dog. But one man's stumbling block probably isn't another man's stumbling block.

With that said, yes all must go through the eye of the needle. All who enter His rest, will count the cost...just like the parable about a man who goes out to build a house or a king who goes out to war, each will first count the cost. So Katz is biblical in his exhortation. If you allow Scripture to have it's way with you, you will recognize the same precept in the above parables.

Read the Scriptures, do what you hear. It's between you and the Holy Spirit. Man cannot identify and solve another man's failings. The three friends of Job is an illustration of this futility. Only Jesus, the author and finisher of faith is able.

One more comment, another pastor condemning a saint, this time Peter.
