There is alot of talk about these being the end times. Those of you who truly believe it to be can you share some scriptures to prove what you believe this and that the bible shows this?

Hi John-
Note you haven't received any responses. May be because there really is no "proof" per se, just methods of interpretation.
There is an excellent book out there called "Revelation: Four Views" by Steve Gregg that essentially takes the book of Revelation passage by passage and lays out each of the 4 primary ways to interpret the book in side by side column format. For example in the passage about the mark of the beast, he lays out the Historicist, Preterist, Futurist, and Spiritual/Idealist ways to interpret this in side by side format.
It is a very interesting study and it is shocking how different the interpretations can be.
Of course the way **I** interpret it is right, and everyone else is wrong. :)
I usually don't pay alot of attention to end times stuff because it usually leads down endless rabbit trails and it causes some Christians to have an escapists mentality. Go hide and wait for Jesus to come.
The one scripture that I find that some like to use for evidence for end times is Mathew 6
6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
There is an argument that says these things have always take place. You read history there is always a war going on somewhere so why would this be considered end times?
I would think that Israel becoming a state would be a a fulfillment of prophecy but where is the prophecy? Otherwise it seems to me as if Christians are blowing smoke and creating things that are not there.
I am not looking for any rapture theories. I am looking for scripture to support that we are in the end times and near the tribulation.
95% of what Jesus talke about in the Olivet Discourse and perhaps 100% was about the coming destruction of Jerusalem, the temple in 70 AD.
How do I know? Because what Jesus said would happen happened.
"Christ in you is the hope of glory!"
Yeah, yeah, yeah. When do we get to see the explosions and all the special effects??
Rabbit trails ad infinitum. I like Matthew 25, Romans 8, and Psalm 149. Action? Yeah, we got your action!!

Trying to figure your post against what has been posted. Please explain more.
Here a clear scriptural proof but I Dont think you expect such a proof.
1 JOHN 2;18-Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour.
if it was 11th hour in 90AD then now around 1920 years later, will definitely be 11:59. so this is definitely end time.

How do you make the correlation of 11th hour, 90AD and now 1920 yrs later it will be 11:59. It seems as if you are reading something into it. Like eisegesis.

Back to your original question...I have studied Revelation, and to a lesser degree the prophets. They all promise extremely calamities. This may not be all that significant until you realize there is a school of thought among end-times students that the church will usher in the millennium through diplomacy. I do not see this happening at all. Many modern, liberal Mennonites hold to this view plus I am sure there are others. In my opinion this is one end-time doctrine you can safely disregard.
I suppose one could be more specific - according to their understanding - in answering your question but you would not 'own' this answer. May I suggest you read, study the prophets, Revelation and any other scripture that deals with end times and see what you learn. Do it without any books that purports to interpret prophecy. The things you will learn will leave you knowing you know a whole lot less then you ever thought you knew! But keep on...it will stretch your mind, fill your soul with a renewed sense of the awesomeness of God. I promise. And...I suspect it will occupy your mind the rest of your life!
In studying prophecy, I,too, think there must be at least one defining point that would be very specific to a space in time, something that has never happened before in the history of the world. I thought I heard of one such recently, but I forgot what it was. SIGH. In any case I am still waiting...and learning that governments are less trust worthy in protecting their people then ever before.
There is something happening in the Muslim world that has never happened before in history - there are record numbers of Muslims coming to the LORD and this is happening apart from missionary activity - Jesus is revealing himself to them via visions and dreams. Believers in the past have spent years ministering to them with little to no success. What is happening now defies anything the church has seen in hundreds of years, I think. I well remember reading 40 years ago about the lack of success in ministering to Muslims in modern times. Dunno how this dovetails into end-time prophecy but it is exciting, nevertheless.
There you have it - my opinion.

Those of you who truly believe it to be can you share some scriptures to prove what you believe this and that the bible shows this?
It seems clear that you believe that these are not the end times. Can you show us, from Scripture, why you believe this?

At one time I followed some of it but I got to a point in which I found some of the stuff seemed like wishful thinking. Some scripture I saw being pointed out might have been accomplished not long after Jesus ascended. Then I see , what I consider nonsense, about the mark of the beat. Everytime I turned around I saw somebody freaking out about something dealing with the hand or forehead. So, I just turned it all off in my head because I figured these people were crackpots and if I keep listening to them I will become one as well.
Then I got back into the scriptures, more, recently and now I decided that I want to know what people are using from the Bible to know we are in the end times. Are we using exegesis or eisegesis for demonstration of it?
Oh, I also turned it off because I found too many were using this topic as an escape mentality and bragging that Jesus is coming back to get them and they will saying goodbye to everyone. Crackpots........
Then I got back into the scriptures, more, recently
OK, so you've been studying end times, what have you found from the Scriptures to support your belief that these are not the end times?
In Christ,
I have not studied end times yet. It is a reason why I would like references so I can look at them in context.
John, after posting I did go to the WORD to do some checking...
Check out Revelation 17, taking special note of verse 18. It may also be enlightening to compare it with Rev. 11:8 - read the entire chapter but note v 8, especially.
After reading this I went to FB and read a link someone posted. Here it is: The title: POPE FRANCIS AND RICK WARREN TO UNITE FOR GLOBAL CHRISLAM CONFERENCE
http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/blog/?p=28081
Dunno about all the final details but what is happening is not what was normal 50 >/< years ago although there was a lot of concern expressed about the World Council of Churches back then - not much heard about it in recent years.
What do you think?
You will not hear "proof", only opinion. He will come when He is ready. In the fullness of time He will come. The moral of the story is "be ready for the Son of Man will come in an hour when you think not".
Do not the scriptures say that we ALL are living in the last days? Right from the moment Adam sinned? Our lives are only but a moment and then we will be gone. Just because Jesus may not return in our lifetime what does that matter?
James 4:13-17 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: (14) Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. (15) For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. (16) But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. (17) Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Has it not already been appointed for each and every one of us when OUR end shall come?
Luke 12:16-20 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: (17) And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? (18) And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. (19) And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. (20) But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
If one were to live to be 100 years old we will all eventually die and give an account what we did in this life.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
As far as I see it, the moment man fell, he was ushered into something God NEVER intended. So many people who want to debate whether Jesus is going to return in our lifetime. The plain fact is when we die we will KNOW at that very moment whether we are going up or down.
Noah knew it, Moses knew it, Paul knew it, David Wilkerson, knew it, and when we all take that last breath we to shall know it.
So my answer is absolutely, we are living in the last days.
Students of prophecy will agree that many prophetic scriptures have duel meanings. To illustrate this read the ones concerning Jesus first appearance. Many of those refer to a situation close at hand. Whether these writers knew or understand the full impact of their writings is doubtful. With this in mind, the term 'end-times' has different meanings - one, meaning the era after the fall, and the second the era close to Jesus imminent return - and both are correct.
Does this muddle the situation a bit more? Likely.
John, go study the OT prophets, then study Revelation and come back in a few years and tell us what you learned! At the least it will be fascinating. Don't let the naysayers deter you...
God bless.

I shouldn't be in this thread. I got old, and doubt that all the grand unfolding will be in my lifetime. I expect to watch most of it from the other side!
Matthew 25 has the parable of the wise and foolish virgins and the lamp oil which speaks of the Holy Spirit. The wise sought and carried plenty of oil, they were always ready. I liken that to Christians who hunger and thirst for the presence of God, who live with an expectation of God's power in their lives, and do not worry about calculating dates.
Then it has the servants giving account of the treasures with which they have been trusted. The Master returns not for a big show of fire and destruction, but to deal directly with His servants.
Lastly, it is the judgement when all the world is gathered before the judgement seat of Christ, believers (with documentation!) are gathered to the kingdom, unbelievers are cast out.
This is a hard word from Jesus Christ that for some reason end time seekers avoid.
Then there's Romans 8. From verse 18, Paul describes the restoration of the creation in terms of it's relationship to the children of God who lead the parade. He throws in that expression "birth pangs," an interesting study on its own. There will be a "birth" of the completed Son of God, the fullness of Christ in His body, that seems to be mostly beyond our comprehension. We are told in several passages that this birth will be a human tribulation of great magnitude, and it seems to me to still be in the future. Certain politicians in current American political offices seem hell-bent to hasten the tribulation, but I don't want to open that can here. Suffice to say, the things Paul is describing in that Romans 8 section are mind blowing.
Last reference is Psalm 149, a word of great triumph. It speaks of God actively judging the world, probably both the natural and satanic spheres of rulers, but using His redeemed people to do it. I do not think He means angels, I think he means His people as in us. My heart is on that page, eager to establish the holiness and righteousness Jesus' blood purchased in the whole earth.
In conclusion, I regard the Lord's prayer as a word of great end time significance. "How should we pray?" Asked the disciples, and it was a great question. But Jesus' instruction was more than just a religious formula. It reveals from the Father what He wants to see in the earth.
"Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven!"
God wants His kingdom to operate in holiness on the earth, and Jesus is instructing the disciples to pray it in!
It bothers me that so many are so anxious to depart and let the "Left Behinders" be destroyed with the earth. And I have read 2 Peter. But God's heart is much more tuned to saving and restoring than it is to watching unbelievers broil in the flames of final judgement. Yes that is coming, but so is some really good stuff. His Name will be glorified, and He is eager to have us all in Him to participate.
After all, Christ in you is the Hope of Glory!
I agree with TMK, it could only be 11:30 or 11:45 as opposed to 11:59. Just sayin...
Haha, it is anyone's guess. But definitely something greater than 11:30. The point is if John points out 90AD as last hour then in 2014 we are not any further from last half an hour or quater hour to me it could be last second.
It is the attitude that matters, if John lived like it is end time then we should also have that attitude.
