Christians in Mexico Deprived of Homes for Refusing to Renounce Their Faith

sermonindex Feb 5, 2015

In one of at least three instances of persecution of Christians in southern Mexico’s Chiapas state last month, village leaders reneged on their agreement to allow 47 evangelicals who were expelled for their faith to return to their homes and land.

In accordance with the agreement arranged by state officials, Protestants from Buenavista Bahuitz village on Jan. 20 tried to return to their community after syncretistic Catholics expelled them in 2012 for their faith. When the Protestants and Chiapas officials accompanying them reached Buenavista Bahuitz, community leaders again refused entry until the Protestants convert to Catholicism, according to advocacy group Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW).

"Traditionalist” Catholics of the village who practice a blend of Roman Catholicism and indigenous customs involving drunken festivals have been at odds with the Protestant minority for years. Local ...

Lets hope this is not the beginning of another round of Catholics persecution of Christians. I have a sense of "deja vu" reading this

There is battle raging within the Catholic church at one side you have the pope and his new age, one world and one God agenda, then you have the traditional stance, no salvation unless your a member of the Catholic church.

Which will win the day?

If the Pope is the new age satanism adherent its inevitable the Catholics Church will be led into destruction.
Maybe that's one of the dimension of Jesus warning about the abomination of desolation. A Satanist as head of a major denomination certainly meets that qualification.

When I wrote 'one God agenda' I meant the bringing together of all religions, which seems to be getting stronger...

Quote: If the Pope is the new age satanism adherent its inevitable the Catholics Church will be led into destruction.

The question then becomes who will do the destroying; the Chaldeans will they be the ones to destroy the Catholic church, going by what the Chaldeans say; they fully plan to do it..

The agenda as I understand what you said is to bring all religions under the rubric of a man made universal religion distinct from Christianity. For the head of a major church who represents himself as the vicar of Christ to do this isa supreme act of treachery against Christ. Its a sacrilegious act of abomination that portents desolation. Jesus warned when we see this its the sign that the end of times is imminently near. So we could very well be at the very edge of end of times

Its God who will destroy and its for him to choose his instrument(s) of destruction.

Hey guys where in the world go you get from Mt 24 that Jesus was talking about the "end times" when he warned about the abomination that causes desolation? He was clearly warning about the desecration and destruction of the temple in 70 AD, and he certainly wasn't talking about a person when using that term.

Most prophecies are multi or bi-focal. Meaning it has reference to events that are immediate as well as remote. So it has double or more fulfillment. The language of the prophecies of Matt 24 is too strong to limit its fulfillment to only the destruction of Jerusalem. Obviously destruction of Jerusalem on AD 70 was one of its references but its strong metaphor is indicative it has a reference to a remote event as well. The immediate "abomination of desolation" event was a reference to Romans armies in the temple vicinity on AD 70. That we all agreed to. Its the future parallel correspondence of that which we are looking at.

I did say that I did say that, but there is so much more going on as well, you have those oppose this strongly within the catholic church, you have a revival of orthodoxy ongoing in Russia some parts and Eastern Europe. I have heard some of them calling for capture of the Hagia Sophie in Instanbul, Turkey

You have the nonsense of the UN, mainly pushed by the West 'the new world order', then you have the green agenda which of course is being pushed by the those seeking 'the new world order' which if go deep into seems to be enlightened beings or awakened as they call themselves, in the bible they are called gnostic's.

Then you have this Islamic world, whats going on in the Middle East in Shem and tossed into that mix you have Israel, now if you listen to some of the Islamic scholars there saying that a Islamic confederation (caliphate) needs to come in a peaceful manner, but you have group called Islamic state who say they have already started the (caliphate) making Al Bagdadhi - the Mahdi (the guided one).

So at the moment there are many anti-christs going out into the world.... which lets us know that the appearing of the Anti-christ is close..

The world being anti Christ is common standard fare of the last 2000 years. But when the supposed vicar of Christ, the head of a major denomination , is an anti Christ that's a real red flag. It qualifies as an "abomination of desolation"

Not my quote, someone else will have to reply on that...

ONLY??? The destruction of Jerusalem and the temple (and thus the end of the Jewish system) was a HUGE deal. You don't need to look to some supposed future "dual" fulfillment. There is not likely language that is strong enough to describe the import of what happened in 70 AD.

TMK,

I'm interested, do you think all of Matthew 24 was fulfilled in AD70 or just the bit about the abomination of desolation?
If all of it, then you would have ignore many verses that clearly have not been fulfilled yet.

I am interested in knowing how y'all define "abomination of desolation".

Moderns shrink back from using the term abomination to describe any perversion, sin, disobedience like the OT does. So, what is an abomination? Maybe if one can discern this it would help in our understanding of this term.
