Please pray for a lady I met yesterday named Karissa. She seemed to be in her thirties. As the open-air preaching of the gospel was going forth (at an area in downtown Long Beach, CA) she seemed to be under heavy conviction of sin, righteousness and judgment. At first she kept pacing back and forth during the preaching for a while, and then finally came up and said she wanted help in getting right with God. Since I noticed that she seemed to be under heavy conviction I felt led to exhort her to call upon the Lord to save her soul and for His mercy, while at the same time sharing the gospel of repentance and faith in Christ with her. As I was speaking with her she began weeping profusely and then began calling upon God to have mercy on her soul, as she held her chest with her hands. Afterward I prayed for her. As I prayed for her she seemed to have gotten distracted and sort of left abruptly. I encouraged her to get a Bible and start reading it. I know that there was a spiritual battle for her soul going on at that moment. Please pray that she would be truly born again of God's Spirit. Thanks in advance for your prayers for her. It’s not too often that I've seen the Lord working so obviously or dramatically on someone’s heart while out evangelizing. Many times He works in mysterious, quiet ways and we must trust Him to work by His Spirit as we walk by faith and not by sight. But when we do see that kind of thing we’re encouraged and reminded in a vivid way that God is still on His throne and is still working by His Holy Spirit in the hearts and lives of people today just as He has always been doing. So let’s continue to spread His gospel as much as we can while we can. As Jesus said in John 9:4, "I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.” To Him alone be the glory.
