God starts over

sermonindex Mar 12, 2015

In my studies, I've realized a theme, I don't think I've ever seen before.

That God starts over.

The hebrews that left Egypt weren't the hebrews that entered the promised land.

The religious leaders of Jesus' time didn't get to enter the rest, instead it was given to some young common men. Then later to the Gentiles at large.

The scripture that comes to mind is you can't put new wine into old wineskins, for they will burst.

Two things that I take away from this teaching.
1. That God isn't required to bless us. He will move on, with, or without us.
2. That God's chief priority is our hearts. The hebrews were bitter and complainers. The religious leaders used scripture to reinforce their murderous ways. God is looking for people that have clean hands and a pure heart.

I'm not looking to challenge/debate this belief. I'm looking to share the blessing in it.

Who makes our hands clean and our hearts pure? Only One; The Christ in you the hope of glory. Who has given me a new heart and spirit and the Life I now live? One answer only; Jesus Christ. Gal 2:20

Amen
God alone can change us.. Sometimes He will allow us to go into the fire.. Praise He is the fourth man..
Praise that He will change us from Glory to Glory..
May He change us from GLORY to Glory He is the potter we are the Clay.
In Christ
Frannie
