This morning ,this came into mind,...about " neglecting so great a salvation"
And this is just what flowed out from that thought,...
.the Lord wants to save us from sin,moment by moment,....
....and we are to be attendive and not neglect that drawing of His Spirit.

People without Christ go to hell...sad but necessary. God must punish sin or He wouldn't be just.
God was and is concerned about the lost so He sent His Son to accomplish redemption for the redeemed.
"If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love." - John 15:10

Evangelism is motivated by love for God and love for neighbor.
If we love little, we will tend to do little (or no) outreach or evangelism but will instead neglect the task to which all Christians are called to be "holding forth the Word of Life" (Philippians 2:16).

Yes, it is God's will that we are saved from sin, moment by moment, not the pattern we usually experience, of circling round the mountain, as in the thread of that name, whereby we sin, come for forgiveness then repeat the sin over and over.
The drawing of His Spirit is easily quenched when we say that we cannot stop sinning in this life. We cannot, but His power is greater than our efforts.
The gospel is "the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16). Lost people need the gospel of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. The believers and church people also need the gospel.
The gospel for believers holds out a reminder of the love of God for sinners as expressed in the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
The gospel for believers is the power of God for sanctification to save us from a continuing sinful nature that can cause us guilt and shame and that disrupts and harms loving relations between ourselves on one side and God and neighbor on another side.
The gospel for believers contains a future hope of the Kingdom of God where peace and justice reign and where God's Name is Hallowed as it ought to be and where God's will shall be done on earth as it in heaven so that sin is retrained and peace and righteousness prevail.
BTW, in the sharing of the bread and cup, believers in communion remind themselves of the breaking of Christ's body and the shedding of Christ's blood that enabled Gospel promises to be established by King Jesus in his work as Suffering Servant.

"His power is greater than our efforts ",......oh yes Brenda,.....We know that it is the "power" in The Holy Ghost,..it came to do a work in us,....and is at work in us.
We know that His arm has not been shortened,that He cannot save,..and we know it is not a one time saving and that is all,...The Holy Spirit,...has come to abide forever,an to do a work,...
* The Resurrected Lord IN us,...(The kingdom of God),....A place in us under the leading of The Holy Spirit,where The King rules and is Lord.

God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
Note it says 'drift away'. I must go back again to the discussion we were having about 'circling the foot of the mountain' for surely, this text is speaking of the same thing. We are stuck and not moving towards His will for us, that is, for a full salvation. We have known Christ for forgivenness for sins but there is more: we need to overcome the remaining problem which is our selves. Only then will we have a full salvation (to the uttermost.)
And if we remain, as the letter to the Hebrew CHRISTIANS is saying, and do not enter into His rest which is the end of the circling, then we put ourselves under judgement. Yes very serious indeed. How shall we escape it indeed.
In these dark days, there are so few that have entered into His rest and the judgement does not only fall upon them alone but upon their land as well. The sorry state of the world is a witness to this. Scripture says that judgment begins in the house of the Lord. Instead, believers are pointing the finger towards the unsaved and blaming them for the state of things instead of turning their fingers towards themselves. God help us.

Yes,circling,...resisting,..His commands / voice / leadings,....and not entering into His rest.
Because Hebrews 3:7, says,' wherefore,as the Holy Spirit saith,TODAY...
( of course tomorrow is TODAY,and the next day,is TODAY,...on and on and on,day after day) ' today,if ye will ' hear' ( be led by His Spirit).
V8,' Harden not your hearts,as in the provocation,in the day of trial in the wilderness,'
Seems to me, it is saying: if we do not obey His voice,..leadings,...( neglecting so great a salvation."Grace,drawing us,...that we cannot enter into His rest / peace / sabbath.
("Neglecting so great a salvation),...by actually saying it, n our actions,.....".We will not have this man to reign over us."
The state of the world,..the state of the church,..yes point at us,...the playing church people....the have it our way,and the do it our way,...When He says,"I Am The Way",.....Follow Me,...His Father led Him.
Actually,another word for it could be "TRADITION "....look around,...is it everywhere ?,...since the first intention of God concerning the
Church ?,....that too,is a subject in it's on rights.

Hebrews 2:3,

I think Hebrews 2:3 is not written for unbelievers who reject the salvation. I think it is written for believers hence the word 'WE' is used. Even believers can reject salvation based on their love for certain SIN. Even though God is willing to free them from that SIN they may still keep holding to it and there by neglect salvation.

They do err in their hearts; they have fallen from their first love; they think that even though their love for Christ is far less than when they first came to Him, that it is acceptable to Him because they ask for forgiveness when they sin - and then go and commit the same sin. They lust for a woman in their hearts, they are impatient with others, they do not love the brethren more than themselves, they judge instead.
We are not talking about people here who have not known Christ. It is in times of revival that they see that they are under judgement for Christ said 'be ye holy as He is holy'. If we are fully saved then we have ceased from sin. Otherwise we have one foot in which means that we are not in. Its all or nothing in the kingdom.

Yes Today is the day of our salvation, it is only when God is speaking to us that it is possible and He soon passes on by if we 'neglect' to see that it is we who need saving.
Revival is where Christians accept the judgment of God upon them for not being in His rest and any hope for a society is in that. Instead many look to the sins of the unsaved and pray them to be revived when it has to start with them. And me. I have come under His judgement and had been revived, oh happy day. If only I could stay there.
