Just wanted to share what The Lord put on my heart recently, to encourage anyone who came from a broken home or ungodly background growing up.
The old saying may often prove true that, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." And the case may be that you did not have godly parents...But if you are in Christ you are now a new apple from a different Tree.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Cor. 5:17)
"And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father" (Galatians 4:6)
"he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him." (1 Cor. 6:17)
"The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God" (Romans 8:16)
"Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is." (1 John 3:2)
