Communion with the Holy One

followthelamb May 1, 2015

"Prayer is not simply talking to God. It is also listening. True prayer is an entrance into communion with the Holy One. Do not be afraid of silence. In the quiet, you can hear God better. Prayer is not the moving of the lips. It is the moving of the spirit. Prayer is not the lifting of a voice. It is the lifting of a soul. Prayer is not the spending of time. It is passing beyond time.

Choose an occasion when you can be alone with God as long as both of you require. You must take as long as you need, but also as long as God needs. A great saint once said that often we must spend a length of time in prayer to get ourselves ready to pray. To truly enter into prayer is to meet God spiritually and to receive his presence in such a way that he is even more real than if you could touch him with both hands." - Joe Misko

Thank you,Brandy
Yes,so often we come under condemnation because we think so logically. Time may mean nothing if our hearts have no capacity and words are sometimes repetitious when sighs tears speak volumes to our Lord.

Listening is not such a burden when we stop striving to hear Him. He speaks to each one intimately and lovingly sometimes through the Word, sometimes through His creation, sometimes through these blessed men and women who are archived here :-)Sometimes like now, through as sister in the Lord.

Thanks for this quote from Joe Misko.
