Revival: What exactly are we reviving?

Has Jesus commanded us to seek revival? Could it be that revival, as we imagine it, is fleeting and futile? Do we not have a firm and active command from Jesus to preach the gospel of Heaven - His gospel? Could it be the enemy's strategy to preoccupy the Body of Christ with the past, while he influences the present? Is the Body of Christ present or absent from the present time? Has not the Judge of all creation already judged the earth? Could the pestilences, famines, wars, Tsunamis, earthquakes, lawlessness, rebellion, etc. be God's judgments in the earth?

This Nation, this world, is presently under the judgement of God. Many of us have a Hollywood memory: we treat life like frames in a movie. Not long ago there was a Tsunami that killed a quarter of a million people. That's 250,000 souls gone in one instance. Nepal: 8,000 souls. ISIS is persecuting and martyring Christians. They are in the U.S.A. planning their attack on Christians. There's famine, war, lawful homosexuality, bestiality, legalized prostitution, rebellious children, idol worship, saturation of false teaching and false teachers. What more does the Body of Christ need in order to wake up? It's as if we're waiting for the "real" judgement of God to begin. God has already judged. What we see today IS His judgement. We're not responding correctly because accepting this as God's judgement tinkers with our little theological calendars; our little eschatological time-lines. Well the Lord is not on OUR time table, we're on His. This is not the time to stroke our own selves with witty, pithy and political thoughts and comments. It is time to TRAVAIL; not that He'll withhold His hand, but that we would burn bright for Him and lead some to Christ. I can hear Jesus saying: You know when it's going rain, but you can't discern the time that's upon you my beloved bride. Trim your wicks, fill your lamps with oil. I am at the door. But when I come will you be in The Bride. Family and Friends, hear my heart: Don't "like" this comment. But LAY on your face before Him, emptying yourself before Him, that He might consume us with His zeal and His love.

Revivals are seen as the restoration of the church itself to a vital and fervent relationship with God after a period of moral decline.

As we pray for God to bring revival, let us never forget where revival needs to begin. It needs to begin in us. In our hearts and in our minds. In every part of our being. If we continue to pursue God as hard and as active as He pursues us, then revival will come. All for the glory of God.

Thank you for your answer. I do understand what we think revival is. But I don't think there will be a visible revival; one that we've programmed. I think there is revival happening in various parts of the world. The impending persecution hovering over the U.S. will move believers to a deeper faith and trust in the Lord. It will also move many from The Faith. It will force many to break and stir their own hearts to His word. What is largely absent is not worship, but fear of the Lord. We have worshiped Him in so many ways. We've cried out in song. But nothing. We've had concerts, conferences, etc. Nothing. Listen to the word of God: "A son honors his father, and a servant his master. Then if I am a Father, where is My honor? And if I am a Master, where is My respect?" - Malachi 1:6. Yes, we've paid God a lot of lip service. But we have not done what He's required. We don't need another concert or another meeting. We need to visit the prisoner, the fatherless, the orphan. We need to clothe the naked, feed the hungry. This is the revival we need. A revival of servanthood. Woe unto all of us for we have stretched our hand up, but not out to those needing the touch of Jesus. Jesus went about doing good, healing and ministering to the poor, the marginalized and the riffraff; anyone that was willing to receive Him. We have sung too many songs and have preached too many messages to ourselves. Yet many go without the touch of Christ. Many go without the truth of the Kingdom of God. You show me your faith without works, but I'll show you my faith by my works. It is the works that's missing. Enough with the solemn assemblies. Do the work of Jesus. Then He'll revive us.

Preaching sin isn't evidence of the fear of the Lord rather the fear of the Lord is to walk as Jesus walked that causes people to wonder at your existence because of the reality of God you walk in.

Jesus said if you love me....At the end of the day after all arguments have been heard on fear of God, repentance from sin, post trib, mid trib, pre trib, Calvinism, Arminius um (SP?)/ and any other isum at the end of the day the believer will be judged on one thing and one thing only, Love, agape Love, that is revival ,very simple nothing more and nothing less.

REVIVAL IS FOCUSING ON THE GOLD AND NOT THE DIRT...
