Hey,I know that some of you out there may be able to help me out with something. I am researching for a paper and am in need of some statistics or data that is expressive of the American church's lack of radical commitment to the Kingdom and the Gospel. I know that is a major steretype and generalization, and in no way am I saying that there aren't some true saints out there who ARE willing to go all the way. But I am trying to illustrate that the quality of Christians in our generation is pale in comparison to that of those in generations past.So I am looking for something like.. Only X % of Christians today would ever consider going to a third world country to preach the gospel for the remainder of their lives. Etc, etc.So any help, whether it seems related or not would be great. SO books, websites, quotes, barna research, whatever applies. Thanks a ton.chad

ChadSo I am looking for something like.. Only X % of Christians today would ever consider going to a third world country to preach the gospel for the remainder of their lives. Etc, etc. This sounds like a great paper and I would love for you to post it in this thread after you are done with it. I remember Oswald J. Smith saying that Americans spend more money on bubble gum then missions. I hope others can help you dig up some really good stats.

Doug Perry's Fellowship of the Martyrs website, has some interesting information. Of particular interest is his Scary Stats and Facts page on there.
