The Spirit of Lawlessness:
"For the mystery of iniquity doth already work” (2 Thessalonians 2:7).
"The Greek word Paul uses for iniquity in this passage means, literally, "lawlessness.” Therefore, the mystery is one of lawlessness, meaning that multitudes are going to act without law or restraint."
"And because iniquity (lawlessness) shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." (Matthew 24:12)
All rebellion against authority whether that authority be from God or those to whom He has given authority to is lawlessness.
The recent murders of police officers have been another indication that this spirit of lawlessness is operating in our nation today. This is the same spirit that is at work in the "man of sin", and it operates in all those that have refused to bow their knee to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
This same spirit of lawlessness is at work in the highest places of our government. For when those in authority rebel against the law of God, and become a law to themselves, then we can know that this spirit is working in them.
Our only hope as a nation is to make an "Appeal To Heaven". We were all at one time under the control of the evil one, but God in His great mercy has delivered us out of darkness into His marvelous light.
We need another Great Awakening in our nation that would cause the Church in America to rise up and become the light and the salt that God has called us to be. The light will shatter the darkness , and will affect every area of our society and culture. We are talking about bringing in God's Kingdom on earth, even as it is in heaven.
In order for this to happen there must be true repentance with obedience to God's Word and The Great Commission, going before the courts of heaven and removing the legal ground of the enemy, and warring with the Word of God.
