The vast majority of Christians lack the discernment to recognize demonic activity operating through another person let alone the nerve to address it directly and tell it to shut up or come out. The real danger is that once you cast one out you need to share Jesus and press that person to commit to Him and than follow that up with some sort of bible study. Jesus gave us a principle of a house being sweep and cleared but not furnished with the demon going out and eventually coming back with more of its cohorts and the last state of that person was worse than the first. I have seen this first hand on the streets (to my shame), where a group of us took authority over demonic activity in persons saw the immediate change but had zero follow through. Did not see these individuals for many months only later to see them in a worse state. Sometime life teaches us some hard and costly lessons. The videos you posted were very good.

True, discernment is lacking. Too many are trying to cast out the flesh or crucify a demon. They must understand which is which, but unfortunately many have been taught that one of them no longer can have any effect on the Christian.

There has been a lot of discussion about whether or not a Christian can be oppressed by demons. Many Christians believe that if the Holy Spirit lives inside of you and you are covered by the blood then it is impossible for a demon to have any place in you. Certainly a Christian cannot be possessed by
an evil spirit, but the Word admonishes us to "give no place to the devil." We give place to the devil anytime we yield our members to sin. Praise God that we can repent, have our sin cleansed by the blood, and take our position of being dead to sin but alive unto God.

The only reason that deliverance would be ministered to an unbeliever is so that they would be saved. If a person does not want to repent of their sin, but only wants relief, the demons will come back, and they will end of in worse shape.

The brother that made these teachings is with the Lord now, but from the early 70's he and His wife had a powerful deliverance ministry, and many Christians were helped and set free through personal ministry and the books and tapes that he put out.

An evil spirit needs a legal access in order to work in a Christian's life. If we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, closing every door, we will be free from all demonic influence.

Derek Prince explained a Christian having evil spirits beautifully. (this is according to my memory, if I remembered wrong, correct me!), He stated that King James wrongly interpreted the Greek word ‘diamonizomai’ (Lisa here: and of course Strong's support the KJV interpretation).... and that the word ‘possessed’ implies "ownership.” Satan can’t "own” a child of God but he sure can torment the child of God.

He asked if when a Christian gets saved, do they have control over every aspect of their life? According to the belief that when a Christian gets saved they get the Holy Spirit and therefore they "got it all,” Derek asked "if that is the case, then where is it all?”

To support this, Derek lived in Chicago at the time and he asked if Mayor Daly had control of all of Chicago? He stated that even the enemy knows and doesn’t allow the police to come into certain areas of the city. But they are still part of the city of Chicago.

The Holy Spirit doesn’t have control of every aspect of a Christian’s life, for whatever reasons, but the enemy does control a thing or two in their life but that doesn’t mean they are not God’s child.

Lisa here to everyone: We have to ask God to help us to get rid of our pre-conceived notions of what a Christian plagued by evil spirits looks like.

God bless,
Lisa

I was not going to go into it but thought about the subject and that maybe I would share a few examples and some scriptures to be considered that tie into these examples, maybe as the Lord will. Some things are like giving an underage driver a car with the keys. I will say that oppression or a pressing in/ vexing or a troubling/ are somewhat different than possession. I liken the human body to the temple of God in its analogy and Jerusalem like our lives. That way we can avoid some hangups by toughs who may be predisposed to a weaker thought life as to their security in Christ and His ability to keep them safe from....

I will start with a practical example and site scripture and than maybe add latter as I feel the need to on a more direct war fare basis. Several weeks ago I went to an auction with a friend and brother in the Lord. Before I went I had an argument with my wife over something stupid and as the argument started I abruptly cut her and said a few curt things and shut down the argument right quick. (trust me I know my faults). While at the auction I bid on an item and won it. There was a lady who bid also but did not win who than proceeded to get very irritated at me and eventually became very vocal. I hate attention publicly and tried to ignore it by avoiding her presence. At the close of that auction when we were loading the van she started on me again only this time she sited my earlier argument with my wife and called me out on it, I was there with a brother and did not have a wedding ring on my hand and since this auction was almost 100 miles from home there was no chance that she knew me, for sure she could not have heard the discussion between myself and my wife earlier that morning. At those direct comments to me I realized that she had knowledge she should not have had. To that I addressed the demon and told it directly to shut up. It did and she physically turned away and I was able to finish loading stuff in peace and quiet and leave. I did not cast it out of her. At the time there were reasons.
Sign of demonic activity in individuals: 1) If it is in someone often times they will be used to vex you the believer 2) Knowledge- they have a net work of knowledge that goes beyond the realm of what a regular person should possess. In this case it was pertaining to myself and my wife and an argument we had earlier that day more than 100 miles away and me there with no indicator that I was even married, even the items I bought would not have pointed that direction.
In Acts 16 there is a story of a girl who was possessed with a spirit of divination, she had knowledge that confronted Paul day to day and Paul was grieved or vexed by her constant troubling of him.

Now that is just 1 example but that is one of possession which is different from vexation or oppression. I have more examples some failing to and maybe I will share them. Mainly I do not desire brothers and sisters in the Lord to have hang ups as to this subject and to walk in fear. Always remember that WE ARE SEALED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE Eph 4:30...I use this scripture just in case someone reading this may say in their heart but Lord I have sin in my heart or life...:)

Thank you brother for sharing your testimony.
It reminds me of a time when I had just got married. We moved to another city and plans were set for us to travel to the US in a few short weeks.
One day, we took a walk down the road. Picture this if you can: Old dirt road. Many people walking briskly, most returning home from work.
I noticed up ahead many people stopping to give money to someone I assumed was a beggar.
As we neared said 'beggar', I hear him 'prophesying' to total strangers! It must have been somewhat accurate for folks were dropping money at his feet.
Believe it or not, as we passed by him, he said, 'Oh you will travel abroad soon and nothing will stop you'.
I was angry within me because I knew he spoke by a spirit of divination. My dear husband heard and saw nothing of all this.
When we got home, I mentioned the incident to him. Now, HE'S hopping mad!! And he begins to pray and command that vile spirit to be silent [remember we are back home].
Guess what? We took a walk the next day and said 'prophet' was nowhere to be found. We never did see him until we left.
Jesus Christ is indeed Lord of all creation.
Blessed be His high and holy name, amen!

Way back in the early 1960's, my pastor and his wife walked out of a meeting to their car and a drunk woman walked up to them, pointing to his wife who was the preacher at the time and said to her, "I know who you are. You're Sister Mary." And kept walking. Needless, to say, they were shook up but learned about the enemy.

Hi All

I really enjoyed peoples posts, i have had success and failures in casting out demons myself. yeah a key to me is when the person says something that there is no way they can know. On one occasion i had a person i knew who was addicted to ice and after about 30 minutes of us trying to stand with the Lord and him giving his heart to the lord. nothing was happening and i was growing faint in my heart then i heard in my thoughts the words "you won't get rid of me" just after this the friend looked up and said there is a voice telling him that he wont come out. I knew what was happening then and this strength and authority came out of my mouth and cast the spirit out. I actually seen the demon come out and my friend stopped shaking straightaway. Later he told me that when he heard my voice cast the spirit out he said it was so strong.

It was my voice but the holy spirit had placed supernatural strength behind it.

I haven't watched the video but I thought since people were sharing that maybe this would encourage someone...

When I was in my mid 20's I was a Sunday School Teacher to the little people between the ages of 2 and 4 years old. From the very beginning I had always made it a point to go down to my classroom and pray over it as well as over the threshold and anything connected with the room before class time. On one occasion while we were doing our art project a little girl was brought to the class late which would usually be no big deal but this time was different. When the little girl came into our class, something else came in with her and we all knew it. I felt it spiritually and so did the kids. There was no time to analyze if it was possession, oppression, or whatever. We just knew something ungodly was attached to that little girl. So I calmly told the kids we were going to take a moment to pray and they were in agreement. They bowed their little heads and closed their eyes. Me? I kept my eyes open and begin to pray whatever the Holy Spirit gave me.

As I prayed the little girl's upper body began to contort. I can't remember what all I prayed, but I do remember commanding in a very calm but firm voice full of God's authority to "loose her and let her go". We were praying for only a couple of minutes if that when I felt that spirit shoot pass me out of the class. I then went over to the little girl and asked her if I could hug her (sure I was checking up close) and told her how happy we were that she was with us that morning. I think one of the other little girls in the class patted her hand and told her, "you're alright now” LOL. Well she was alright, thanks be to God. Her grandmother later told me how her granddaughter loved our Sunday school class (there's another testimony attached to this for another time). I never saw that little girl again, but I'm glad God saw fit to use us and that we were available. What I learned that morning was that children who know God can take down a devil any day of the week and I'd take them as prayer warriors and back up anytime!

There is still legitimate Holy Ghost demonstration of God's power today. God's power has never changed. We may have changed but not so with God. Like David Wilkerson said, "God's not giving His authority to anybody who is not on their knees.” That speaks volumes to me. Amen and amen.

There are two extremes that many Christians take when it comes to dealing with demons. The first group does not acknowledge the reality of demonic oppression in a Christian's life. The usual view of these Christians is that Jesus has won the victory, has defeated the devil, and we no longer have a problem with demons.

Then there are those that have dealt with demons and know the reality of deliverance, and have actually cast demons out of people. The danger is that those that minister deliverance to the oppressed would become demon conscious, seeing demons behind every bush, and getting out of balance.

It is the will of God that we would know the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ. We should know our authority in Jesus Christ and not fear the powers of darkness. God has placed all things under the feet of Jesus, and we are in Him, and the Word says that "we will tread on serpents and scorpions." We should be God conscious, walking in the Spirit, keeping our eyes on Jesus, putting on the whole armor of God, and standing against all of the wiles and strategies of the enemy.

We walk by faith and must receive all of our victories by faith. Many OT types of this "faith-walk".

Hi Mike

I liked your post, I am from a position in my walk now after many years of searching for answers that the enemy uses different tactics when attacking people that only the Holy spirit see's exactly what is happening and has the answer for that particular situation which ever it may be. There are many good preachers that teach different ways to cast out spirits and each one had worked at different times and sometimes they didn't and i learned that going into situations with pre-planned strategies can interfere with me hearing the holy spirit so now if able to i will wait for the Holy Spirit to advise me of what to do.

My beliefs in demonic possession came about because of experience, i was thrown into it when i became a christian and continued ever since. Its no longer a focus of my christian walk but if God calls me to enter this area i will just like all other areas of the bible.

I personally found frank hammond interesting and gave me a couple of different perspectives to reason through. Dereck prince also helped in many different ways. I think we all have a calling and God exposes us in areas to where he wants us to walk.

Here is another example, btw I have enjoyed every ones in put.
On a Friday nite myself and Charles N. was across the street from the main body of witnesses. We was just talking to each other when a real little woman, maybe 85 lbs. sopping wet, walked up between us and literally picked us up off the ground and swung us around growling at us. Both of us together weighted roughly 200 each so she was man handling over 400 lbs. She was about 5 foot tale so she only came to our shoulders. I really wish that I could report to everyone that we were great men of faith and power but we were not. She than released us and walked into the middle of the street and started with the vulgarities and lewd gestures, honestly neither of us were prayed up to deal with that. But I never forgot that, and I remembered the story in the gospels where the man demon possessed would break the chains and was tormented in that grave yard til Jesus set him free where we see him clothed and in his right mind.

So I figured that supernatural strength in this instant was purely demonic. I also learned a valuable lesson that nite, Pray before going out to witness, during witnessing and afterwards. Sometimes my prayer life is just so so, just enough to get me by, but when engaged in real close combat like that ...I go more prepared now:)

I remember an incident that occurred
around 20 years ago. A brother asked me to
go with him to pray for a man that had been
experiencing severe depression. As we
began to pray, we noticed that the man's
facial features began to change. There was
another power distorting his face.
Then he began to speak with a voice that
was not his. I remember hearing "this is our
home", and other utterances to try to throw
us off track. As we commanded the
spirits to leave, a spirit spoke through the
man saying: "we are all gone now." We
continued to cast out the spirits until it
was evident that they were all gone.

If I may share another story, this one recently... my sister has gone to church her whole life, was saved at a young age, has loved Jesus, has two daughters who love Jesus but she has demonic activity in ALL areas concerning "me” and it goes way back to our father and telling that would literally take 15 pages of family history to explain.

I have always wondered if I could blame how my sister treated me over the years (secretly of course b/c she's a Christian), on demons; but I've always heard (never believed it till now). After my mom died 2 ½ years ago, soon after my sister called me up and lambasted me over the phone and I became livid,. After hanging up the phone, I got in the car (I was 5 miles away from her), but while getting into the car through sobs I told the devil out loud, "You say one word to me when I get there and mean ONE, I will cast you out then and there. I am so sick of this.”

Well, when I walked into the condo, she treated me like a long lost friend, hugged me, invited me in and made no mention of what she lambasted me over. I just stood there with my mouth open knowing that the evil spirits heard me from 5 miles away. (Edit: I learned that satan is indeed the prince of the power of the air. Eph 2:2)

It was also the Lord giving me confirmation that there was demonic activity in her life. But He also encouraged me because believe it or not, what I saw that moment in time, was the true sister I’ve never had and I had hope.

Also, through that experience, the Lord opened my eyes to this verse ”“ "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Eph 6.12 I am not against my sister anymore, I am against those evil spirits that operate in her, the principalities and powers.

I pray for continue to love her, pray for her and for the Lord to send someone in her life who believes in casting out demons because I don't know if she would accept it from me. Only the Lord knows when her deliverance will come but I’m praying for it to be soon!!

To the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever. Amen. (Romans 16.27)

Having just read your post I find it interesting, reminds me of a few things but I just wanted to briefly comment on a couple of things. Mat 18:18
\tVerily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Mat 18:19
\tAgain I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 18:20
\tFor where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Basically here Jesus is speaking of relationship with in the family of God and the authority of the believer to bind and loose. Basically you should consider getting a few close friends in the church together and just simply binding that influence over your sister and than just show the love of Christ to her in order for the graces of forgiveness to work in her heart toward you and that door of oppression will cease to be. Her accepting deliverance does not need to be something she even realizes she may need, love covers a multitude of sins. Prayer is amazing but united prayer is indeed a very under used thing when it comes to our daily lives. We tend to live in the abstract when it comes to our daily lives and we hold to a vague belief when we are praying for things like answers to prayer somewhere around the world. In business the term "I would rather be a meaningful specific than a wondering generality" is used ....of course like I would rather be focused on specific goal oriented pursuits than just kinda out there....like a dog that is chasing its tail in circles. I do trust that you and your sister will be well. God Bless.

Thank you so much, brother! I have brought to her that same Scripture that you just mentioned that she and I needed to be in agreement. But I did not think of it as getting some close friends together and praying for her. I will do that!! I so appreciate you bringing that to me. God is so good!

Thank you and God bless,

I do not have time right now but I will post some first hand examples of Christians being set free from various oppression's by demonic activity. These tend to be somewhat different than possession but can be almost as controlling....usually in just a specific area or an other...ummm more compartmentalized I guess. God Bless DMiller
