Treasures of Wisdom

Treasures of Wisdom is a devotional booklet containing writings of Martha Wing Robinson. The booklet was compiled by Mr. and Mrs. Gordon P. Gardiner.

October 1:

"Endure unto the end.
Night passes. Dawn is breaking.
Be ready for thy Saviour's call to thee;
What matter then what trials
have crossed thy pathway,
What stormy billows tossed thee on life's restless sea?
Behold, He cometh! O my soul! As clothed upon
With immortality you meet Him in the skies
And see Him as He is, 'twill well reward thee
To have one glance of welcome from His eye."

October 2:

"If we seek Jesus more and more, and seek a personal relation with Himself, we come into Him and he into us, and the cleansing and purging and pruning go on almost unknown to us."

October 3:

"To live a steadfastly obedient, careful life with Jesus, and to do those things that please Him, wins the life of Christ and crucifies flesh."

October 4:

"Don't demand that people love you -- you love them."

October 5:

"Have you given spirit, body, heart, life, will, thoughts, words, attitudes, feelings?"

October 6:

"Deep prayer life brings deep faith."

October 7:

"You can't stop the mouth of lions, but you can stop your own mouth."

October 8:

"Lay down your opinions and see what the Bible says about the second coming of the Lord."

October 9:

"Unless you learn to be sweet when young, you will become less endearing as you grow older."

October 10:

"In the Bible are Himself and yourself--what He will do for you, what you can do for Him, and what you can be for Him."

October 11:

"It is good to remember that although the way of perfection seems hard to those who live in the flesh, it does not seem hard to those who live in the love of God."

October 12:

"If you want Him to abide, let Him think for you."

October 13:

"Be steadfast toward the Lord that you want Him."

October 14:

"Aim to obey."

October 15:

"Always put Jesus first in your ministry, and people will."

October 16:

"Remember the man at the door asking for bread ceased his quest only when he obtained the bread."

October 17:

"You will get rid of this 'old flesh' if you come after Jesus."
