The school administration shot down the speech on the basis of religious content. I had laywers come in from the AFA to help me find a way to be able to talk at graduation. They flew from Mississippi to Missouri to take the school district to court. The school refused to respond to the lawyers' warnings, so they decided to file a complaint against the school. The school administration spent all day with legal counsel and spent over $5000 in one day. There was a possibility the case would last 2 years and the superintendent who is retiring would have to return over those two years just to testify at the trials. All the proceedings could have cost the school $250,000, and they might have postponed the graduation ceremony. The news media would have jumped all over it because there has been no official ruling on this in the 8th circuit. It probably would have gone to the court of appeals and would be used as a precedent nationwide. I was asked to be on that national Christian law radio show.In light of all this controversy and the fact that my orinal intent was just to be able to talk to these people about Jesus, I have dropped the case. The message of the cross would have been completely stifled in all the hype, and it would have been a poor testimony to the name of Jesus. Also, thousands of people throughout the school district would have been negatively affected and possibly hurt very badly. I have tried everything I could to tell these people about judgment, but when it is at the expense of hundreds of people who may find it hard to put food on the table if their salary is cut (our school district couldn't even afford more paper at the end of last year), I can't proceed.All of these things have gone according to the Lord's will, I am fully assured.I will not be giving a speech at all.Thanks to those who prayed.

Now you really have my curiosity peaked.
