CD's instead of Tracts in Evangelism

I just thought I'd pass along an idea I had recently that I am going to try doing with our door-to-door evangelism that we do at church. Instead of handing out tracts at each house, I am going to work on burning some CD's that either contain various sermons I feel are evangelistic in nature, the street meetings of God compilation, or even a short audio file I am thinking of making simply called "Why I Believe in Jesus" (or if the CD is big enough, a bunch of different audio files) which will contain my personal testimony on it and the like.I look at it this way. Depending on where you buy from, a case of 100 CD-R's would cost roughly as much as 100 tracts, though probably just a little more on average. Depending on how many you plan on making, you might could convince people to donate their CD-R's. So anyway, for roughly the same price or a little more, you could hand out audio cd's you burn on your computer. I believe such e-tracts would be much more likely to be listened to than the standard tract booklet. In my opinion, there is a stigma in our society regarding tracts, and most people will stay away from them like the plague if they can avoid doing so. However, I think CD's might have a more general appeal to people, and they might actually be interested in listening to the CD verses that that of the typical chick-tract.Let me know what you guys think! Maybe we can work on together finding somebody who could sell us cd-r's really cheap.

Hi broFire on the Altarthere is a part on that site where it talks about the "Freedom cd" with compilations of testimonies. you can download the 'freedom serie' on the same site and here on SI at the compilation part. so if you go to the 'Electronic Tracts' section there you can find more info.but the idea is really good, people prefer to listen and a free cd, they might want to check things out and listen. put it in their car cd player or discman.

Hi KingJimmyI am in the process of producing an audio gospel presentation that will run about 12 MIn. that will be posted at www.united4truth.com I have been recording various salvation/revival messages for a while, and leaving them here, and there on my travels. I believe that this is a wonderfull way to get a gospel message into the hands of someone who can listen at their liesure, in their own time. One good source of messages is Ray Comfort on this site, or at his website at www.livingwaters.com. Up here in canada, I have been able to buy cd"s for $30.00 per 100, so the pricing is ok. For anybody interested in cheap CD-r's, I've been able to find a bunch of cheap ones on ebay. I am in the process of buying 100 CD-R's for 1 cent, plus 19.99 s&h ($20). I don't know that you can beat that.

There are some out there who are charging much less in s&h btw (just found some). So, for those looking to do cheap e-tracts, you should be able to find more than enough cd's to keep you happy for a long time.

Not a doubt about it in my mind, I am going to use this Freedom CD. Very powerful.
