I need prayer

L
Lysa Nov 20, 2015

I need prayer. My sister and I have had my mom's beautiful condo for sale for 3 years. Another realtor made us an offer for $7000 less than what we thought. I want out from under this payment, she's wanting more money. We have not have a bite for 1 year.

I am beside myself, trying to stay calm with her. Please pray that God moves in her to agree to sell this condo and be satisfied so that we can both be out from under this condo.

Thank you

[edit]Even with 7K less, everything will be paid for. We may not walk away with a lot of money, but we won't have to take anything to the table or owe anyone. [/edit]

Have you considered offering her $3500 or maybe just $2000 for the loss that she thinks she would incur at the current offer?

The place is worth what a willing and ready and able buyer is willing to pay. If three years in you have had no offers, the market is below her expectations.

Have you considered renting the condo? The real estate agent can list it and they do all the paper work, credit checks of the prospective renter, and secure a security deposit and the first and last months rent. The cost is typically one months rent.

Rentals are very popular and do not buy into all the fears that people talk about when it comes to renting. Just a thought. Condo rentals are typically popular with single women. I speak from experience as I own two rental properties and one is a condo and have been renting it for over 9 years no problems whatsoever.

I charge a fair price, below the average and the rent pays the taxes and any upkeep that might be needed.

I will pray for you either way Lisa.

Hi Lisa, seven thousand less after being on the market so long does not seem bad at all. If you can walk away from this and from the stress of the payment then that sounds good. You might know that I am a realtor. Most agents would have been having you lower the price every month it did not sell anyway. I will pray you guys can come together on this.........bro Frank

First, it was $500 that she wanted and I called the realtor and said, "Give her $500 from anything over what we have to split."

Then not even a half an hour later it was up to $2000... she wants more. If I had $2000 to give her, dolfan, I would do it in a heartbeat but paying for this condo has drained me. She has the money not me (and she knows that).

I was looking over what is owed on the condo and it's actually 4500 less than what I thought!! Yeah! ... and I tried to explain that to her that that was unexpected and would more than make up for the $2000 (1000 ea split) that she wanted!!

Please pray. And thank you for your prayers.

She won't rent it either. I've tried but she wants her money and supposedly now.

Lord,

Lisa needs wisdom. She's asking you for it, and she's asking you to move on her sister to do what is wise about this condo.

You don't want Lisa to bear an unnecessary burden. This is an asset, but it consumes cash. The value of the condo is evidently not moving ahead of the equity that keeps building. She's treading water, here, Lord. And, her sister is teasing her by pulling on her own end of the lifeline.

Lord, you said if any one lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives wisdom to us liberally and you do not scorn us for it. We confess with Lisa that we don't know what to do. Like Jehoshaphat, Lord, we can only say "our eyes are upon you."

Father, you have "riches in glory in Christ Jesus" that you provide to us. Out of the storehouse of your love and your authority over this matter, we petition you to move in the heart and mind of Lisa's sister to sell this condo. There's a willing buyer. We know the price is not what they wanted for it. Move on the would-be buyer to offer a just and fair price, and move on Lisa's sister to accept that offer and release Lisa from this burden and obligation. Provide for her through it, we ask.

Amen.

Thank you for praying! After replying to you all this morning, I prayed. It ended with, "I trust You, in spite of what I see and what I'm feeling, I trust You..."

We eSigned the papers this afternoon and should close within two weeks!! She didn't go down without a fight but God was the victor! I feel so relieved! :)

Thank you ALL again for praying and thank you Jesus!!
