Brother,

Jesus was forsaken and alone, too. Matthew 27:46

The one man who He'd told that God had revealed to him that Jesus was Messiah, the one man who said, "I will never leave you," left Him in that hour.

Still, in Jesus' cry, He said, "MY God".

Brother, your God is still your God. I know you feel dead. But, in Him, you are made alive. Your senses are lying to you. Your flesh is telling you that He does not care and that this is all a lie. I know you know this already, but know, too, that you are not alone.

Can I quote John Piper? Be encouraged in this quote:

"Like Abraham and Isaac going up to Mount Moriah, he and the Father had gone up to Calvary together. But now Abba is not there. Only El is there: God All-mighty, God All-holy. And, he is before El, not now as his Beloved Son, but as the Sin of the World."

Brother, when you cry out, you ARE saying "Abba", because He who knew no sin became sin that you might be made the righteousness of God. So, when you cry out to God, He hears you as Father. That's the truth. No matter how you feel, know that this is objectively, positively true.

Cry out. Cry to Him. Lean into the pain. Lean into the coldness of your own spirit. Don't abandon the exercises of your soul that seem fruitless to you in this period of time. Pray. Get into the Word. Read His promises and His ways even in the dullest, darkest, deadest moments of your day. You're not faking anything. Your faith-ing, if I might say so.

Deal honestly with any known sin. Get away from it. Confess it. You may be ripening for a personal awakening and revival down the road. Don't give up. Cling to Him.

Others are praying for you. I'm praying right now. Lord, help this brother. We hold his hands up to you in our own hearts, Lord. He's yours. You won't leave him. You won't forsake him. Your promises are yes and amen. You are not slack concerning your promises toward us. Oh, but the slowness of time, the length of it when we measure in our flesh, Lord --- help him overcome that sense within him that your timing is slow or that he is alone in the waiting. Gird him, Lord, with other believers. Send your Holy Spirit to bear Him up, Lord. Help him to walk in the trust and knowledge of who you are. Give him light and life and a fire in his heart again, Lord. Prepare him for the work that you are already willing and working into Him according to the counsel of your own will and pleasure.

Father we rejoice in you- we thank you for every spiritual blessing in Christ. We thank you for the destiny that you have granted to us. We thank you and praise you for the security we have in you- the Strong Tower , the Hiding Place . We thank you for an awesome inheritance. We thank you for every gift of the Holy Spirit. We thank you for every Christ-like fruit of the Spirit. Father, we thank you that you have adopted us to yourself through Jesus Christ that we might be your children. We are not orphans and we are not strangers. We are fellow members of God’s house! We are fellow citizens with the saints of the City of Almighty God , and in Jesus’ name we put down any lie that would say otherwise. We are the head and we are not the tail. Because of what your Son did we are your children and we are not merely slaves. We will not squander the precious blood of Jesus or the great Holy Spirit poured out on us! We repent of giving the devil so much place and allowing him to make so much noise in our lives. We will begin to live and act like children of the Most High, and as subjects of the one true King. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If there is anything to repent of, then do that but the enemy is making this about you and you are NOT the only one he does this to. No matter what we feel, we still be a "doer of the word."

This just came to me, these "feelings" are why there are so many divorces today. (I've been divorced, I know to which I speak.) If married Christian people would keep their covenant with God - not the person they married (when the love is gone), they would stay married, right?

So, wouldn't that be the same when we feel the love is gone from our walk with Christ? When we cross into the valley of the shadow of death, wouldn't we need to keep our covenant with God? We need to keep on doing what is right in HIS eyes, not our own!

deltadom, My hope is that by the time you read this message you will already have stepped over this log on your path and are experiencing His great love for you again. The first thing you must know without a doubt is that you are NOT your feelings. Feelings are emotions and we all have them. They come and they go just like the wind. Some feel good, some bad but they do not dictate who we are. Jesus is the only one who informs us of who we REALLY are. Before I finally "got it" and learned to separate my feelings from Truth, I had to face this test of faith day after day after day. Now, not so often. Now I can say to the evil one "don't even go there with me. You're a liar and the truth ain't in ya" and go on about my business. Part of that learning came in the form of writing my "grateful for" lists. By the time I was down to #10 I was thanking God for having enough strength to rake leaves! (I'm an old woman.) God's Word tells us "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in ALL circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." (1 Thes 5:16-18 NIV) King David gives us encouragement with his words in Psalms 120:1. He writes "I call on the Lord in my distress and He answers me." (NIV) Now is that a great Word or what! As our thoughts start to become more in line with the Truth, you'll see your feelings begin to line up with that also. Our wonderful God tells us "Since you have been raised with new life in Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God's right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God". (Col 3:1-3 NLT) Listen to what James, Christ's brother, had to say. "Consider it pure joy my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish it's work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." (James 1:2-4 NIV) And now I leave you with this prayer. I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
