The poor in the church

deltadom Jan 10, 2016

James 2King James Version (KJV)

2 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:

4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?

7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

What is such a shame is the aspect that the church misses, How many churches are fleecing the flock for shameful gain when people in there own congregation cannot getby financially.

What I find so shocking is because we have a gospel less christianity. How many brethren come into the church poor and then fleeced by wicked pastors.

More like a Christ-less Christianity.

It is no small thing to take upon oneself the name "Christian". Amazingly, many who are called by the name of Christ, today actually deny Him. They don't deny His existence but certainly deny His Person and all He represents as Lord and Savior in their lives.

Many evangelical churches today used to have the right "packaging" but now they have tossed it out, too. Discernment was needed in the past to see through the "packaging", but now things are so blatant that the deceived must be willingly deceived. Jesus Christ has been thrown out and they continue on without missing a beat.

Christianity is not about having our "best life, now". Jesus is supplemental to the "American Dream", not instrumental in what many people consider His Church. To be sure, His Church does exist and He is certainly instrumental in it. There is no question about that. He is not a King without a Kingdom, and Christendom is also not a Kingdom without a king, just that they have the wrong king. There always will be a remnant maintaining the testimony of Jesus and pulling others out of the fire.

Is it any wonder that the religious system has and will continue to persecute the "children of the Spirit"? They don't recognize their King! From the OT to the NT to the present day, they always have and always will? The servant is not greater than His Master.

And let us not forget the large para-church sheep fleeing industry.
Some of these have massive income and misuse most of it for selfish gain.
Their condemnation is just.

We are told to avoid them.

Romans 16:17

Now I beseech you, brethren, MARK THEM which cause divisions and offences CONTRARY TO THE DOCTRINE YOU HAVE LEARNED; AND AVOID THEM.
