A Little While
A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?
They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.
Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?(John 16:16-19)
"A Little While."We see it 7 times in these few verses.Yes in a "little while" Jesus did leave them,but in a "little while" they saw Him,then He left again,but:
"For yet a little while,
And He that shall come will come and will not tarry."(Hebrews 10:37)
No,It doesn't matter what the world say's and it doesn't matter what many among Christian circles say,He is coming.It doesn't matter how much we are ridiculed for believing this,He is coming.It doesn't matter how much the scoffers ridicule and mock,He is coming.It doesn't matter how much liberal theology teaches otherwise,He is coming.It doesn't matter what we might have to endure in this life,"Sorrow Will Turn to Joy,"He is coming.
This is not the hope of this world,it is our hope.It is foolishness to this world and the natural mind.Just as our salvation is foolishness to the natural mind.
"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."(1Corinthians 1:18)
"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."(1Corinthians 2:9-10)
No the world can't understand our salvation and our hope because it is revealed and worked in us by His Spirit that indwells us.The world is engulfed in their human wisdom which can never understand the wisdom of God.It sees no need for God or salvation or hope that is beyond what this world system offers.The wisdom this world offers has deceived the minds of the natural (the lost).Worldy wisdom glories in having no need for God or the salvation and hope He brings.It has deceived the hearts of lost.Just as we were at one time.
"Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men."(1Corinthians 1:25)
It's the simple things of God,our salvation and hope that confounds or confuses the wise of this world.They can never understand outside the revelation by the Spirit of God.
"For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved."(Philippians 3:20-21,4:1)
So stand fast in the Lord,yet a little while sorrow will turn to joy.Perhaps Today
