Deadpool reviewed by a Christian?

sermonindex Feb 24, 2016

Hollywood has yet again produced a filthy movie with a superhero as the main character. Plugged in, the focus on the family media review site sent one of their reviewers to watch this movie and tell every one how wicked it is.

I have a few questions.

1. Should a Christian watch pornography for any reason?

2. How do these men teach the young men at their church to stay pure when they are viewing impure things themselves?

3. Did the early Christians send certain believers into the pagan temples to observe the sex acts going on so they could report in detail what they saw and warn others not to participate?

As I read my Bible I get to verses in Eph 5, 2 Cor 6, and Col 3 that say...Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. And...
Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, ...And... If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Pretty black and white to me. If you are swimming in a deadpool come to the Living water and live!
Any thoughts?

You know it's all I can do living in today's world just to keep my mind on Jesus Christ. Personally I have to be very careful not to be drawn into a lot of different things, even some of the debates here on SI. "Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness" as you said that's pretty black and white.

We all know what happened to Lot's wife when she decided to look back at the very wicked world just one more time.

Deadpool is exactly what this filth crazed generation lusts for. Look at the box office numbers...off the chart. I agree with the OP...what on earth is a ministry like Focus on the Family doing sending their people to see these movies? In a strangely twisted way they are actually promoting this movie to other christians...by going to see it themselves. Yes that is how many christians do things, they take their lead from so called "leaders" and FOTF is somewhat of a morality crusader in this country.

Its foolish of them to attempt to compete with other movie review sites...all they should have done is provide a link to the Parental Guidance page of IMDB and tell christians in a one sentanced review:

"Avoid this filth!!!"
