Update: Opening Registration on the SermonIndex.net Forums

sermonindex Mar 9, 2016

Dear Saints,

As many of you have been aware the forum registration was closed for over 2 years. This was necessary for a season due to technical and abuse problems. We also felt the Lord leading in this. We have now opened the registration for new users to join. This will be a manual process at this point as we continue to pray through this process.

Do share with your friends who you knew had interest to join but could not till now!

We ask that all believers review the community guidelines before registering:

SermonIndex Community Guiding Principles
https://www.sermonindex.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=44556&forum=13

And also for everyone to realize this is not a website to promote your own sermons or messages, we hand-select ALL sermon messages put on the website. We ask that saints do not overly promote their blogs, or links to a specific ministry.

To register simply email: sermonindex@gmail.com with your:

1. first name
2. email
3. desired username (we might change it slightly if it is already taken)
4. location (optional)
5. favourite bible verse
6. your testimony of believing in the Lord (very brief in 2-5 sentences).

Saints,

We do want to also underline this is a privilege to be able to post in such a way on a website beside some of the godly men used all throughout Church history. It does come down to a testimony for the Lord and how if we speak in a way that dos not bridle our tongue (James 1:26) we can produce a testimony that is bad for the world to see. There is a sobriety that comes with the truth that our Lord spoke: But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. (Matthew 12:36).

Let us pray for the spirit of unity (John 17) and a respect for others and ultimately the Lord Himself in the way we carry ourselves in the forums.

Hello to all, really looking forward to the forum discussions with fellow believers. May God use this to His glory and to better edify His people. I have benefited greatly from SI and excited to get involved in this way! Thank you brother Greg and others who have labored that we may better "look unto Jesus".

Brother Scott,

I've had much the same experience!
Many thanks have gone up to the Lord over the years for SI, as I don't know where I'd be without it, it's been instrumental in my walk as well-

Yay!

I look back at very old threads from time to time and see SO MANY names who never post now and I realize what I missed out on not even knowing of SI. Very pleased others will have a chance to participate as they will. Thanks, brother Greg and all at SI for your ministry here. It matters a lot.

Dear Sermonindex,

I want to thank you all for the great honour you have bestowed upon me that I should be a part of such a tremendous site. During the period in which I could not sign up, I have been edified beyond measure, not only by the sermons this site has produced but by the posts on the forums. I want to thank you all, and hope I will be able to be a blessing even as many of you have been to me.

Welcome in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. To all of you new members to SI, I hope you will be encouraged, challenged, inspired and enlightened by the disciples in Christ that you will come to know here.

To Christ Jesus be all glory, power and praise! Amen!

Brother Greg,

with much love to you I have been so very blessed since I have been on and off this forum since it started in 2002. I still remember your visit to our home in Rochester, NY and it is a privilege walking this journey with you (and so many others on this forum) in Christ as iron sharpens iron. As I have had to process through forums and websites such as Facebook, it is so easy to just type out a response without realizing that a real human is behind each username and is a brother or sister in Christ. I have been on forums and chat rooms since the late 80's and seen the evolution of technology and it's amazing to think we can all share the word of God and pray for each other around the world from the comfort of our homes.

Blessings, Doug

Welcome all the new members, may we all be able to encourage and build each other up for the Glory of God
Thank you Greg for all the work you do.
A couple of suggestions: Could you put a word limit on the posts? Often I just can't read posts that are extremely long.
Could you change the format a bit, the way it is done in probably most other forums.
Eg when we have already 10 posts I might want to reply to poster 3, 4 and 9.
My replies would then appear below those posts and a bit inserted, you have probably seen this.
