Dear Brother Paul,

Welcome!
It sounds like the Holy Spirit convicted you of sin and you have been sorry for what you did. If you have asked the Lord to forgive you then He throws your sin as far as the east is from the west and remembers it no more It is under the blood. He died for your sins.

The Lord works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses,
his deeds to the people of Israel:
The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;
he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust. (From Psalm 103)

Even if your uncle and aunt have died, you are forgiven. God will give you the peace that passes all understanding and use this incident as a testimony to others perhaps about being forgiven or of teaching young ones to respect their elders.

The enemy has no power over you and you can speak many scriptures to him and he will flee!!!

I have also done things that I regretted and could not make right but the Lord can make all things new. He loves us so much. Just believe that your sins were put on him at the cross. How much he loves you, dear Paul! And all who believe in Him and what He has done for us on the cross.

Thank you, Father, for your Son Jesus who took our sins upon him and suffered for us that we might be forgiven and made right with you. May we tell of the great joy of being set free in Christ!

Hello Paul

If the Holy Spirit is dealing with you about your unholy walk, then it is not wise to quench Him.

My advice to you us to allow Him to show you your sins and to bring you down into the dust. It is a blessed place to be.

Dear brother Paul,
You have a good name! I am praying for you and I looked up your country so I can pray for believers there. If you are born again and filled with His Holy Spirit then He will show you what to do when conviction of sin comes, but He will never bring condemnation. The sacrifices of a broken heart and a contrite spirit are acceptable to our Lord. (Psalm 51)

And you will have to put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes! I learned a lot from Derek Prince and David Wilkerson on spiritual warfare...when you look at the audio files by topic or by scripture here on this treasure trove of sermonindex

In His Love,
Sister Leslie

Every child of God is entitled to peace. It is one of the fruits of the Spirit. The holy Spirit gave me that illumination so i can know the cause of the situation but that does not mean i should remain or continue in that odd condition. As God's children, we have been delivered from the power of darkness ,Colossians 1v 13. And we are entitled to divine healing, obtainable by faith and restoration.
Affliction, sickness and diseases are direct oppression of the devil. The reason most people suffer from these things is because of sin, disobedience and evil deeds. God is not the author of sickness n disease. So even if a regenerate child of God who is not aware he has been delivered from the power of satan can go on suffering from afflictions placed on him by devil until when his light comes ,then he has take his deliverance by the forces of prayer backed up by scriptures and faith. He has to engage in a spiritual warfare in the arena of prayer, break the yoke of the devil over his body or life.

Anyway,this is my opinion

Bro Paul,
Good to hear you are a man of the Word.
I agree with you that sickness and disease can be from the enemy, but not always because of sin. In John 9:1-4, the disciples asked Jesus about a man who was blind: "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?
"Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life..."

And Jesus healed him.

Sis L ,thanks a lot. I ' ve learnt from your contributions on my post and i ve been applying some of them. As u can see ,somethings i said were extracts from your earlier post . but i am inclined to think that the devil does not ve to wait for people to sin before he afflicts them. In the new testament, some of those folks Jesus delivered from diseases n demonic oppression did not even sin. Being a crooked that he is, the devil by his demons just deliberately posess n afflict them, probably because they were a bunch of weak empty vessels. But the man Jesus healed at the pool, Christ later in the synagogue told him' sin no more lest a worst thing come unto thee'.

Job was not delivered from the attacks of Satan by prayer, naming it and claiming it or anything suchlike. God allowed the attacks to bring Job into a better place where he did not think he had the right to God's presence and it continued until He decided to end it.

The greatest error of man is to think he can walk with sin in his life but if he is living a holy life and his past sins are tormenting him then of course peace can be found in Christ.

Brotheralechenu Apr 2, 2016

Yes my sister, Peace can be found in Christ. but what if someone is now in Christ and then he is going through torments. What will u suggest that the person do that he might be free or relieved of the anguish torments??? because obviously i know you will not want that person to be going through painful anguish especially when everyone around him is filled with Joy and bubbling. Anguish i tell you my sister is not a sweet thing.

Brother you did not say whether you were a believer when it happened. If you give a few more details, the brethren might be able to counsel you better.

There were things that l felt badly about when l came to see that it was due to not walking in the Spirit and my failures led me to find the key of how to do it, that is by faith that Christ had already made me whole (Holy).

It is not the individual sins that are the issue, the issue is are we walking in the Light?

I was believer but my mind was not renewed. i was listening and yielding to the wrong influences. My mind was conditioned to be contentious and to act in an evil manner. Ignorantly i did not know i will be recompensed for deeds done. My uncle n his wife died when i was in 300L.
At 400L ,I found myself in a room where most of my roommates were unregenerate. They abused psychological and emotionally . At that time i was just an innocent young chap who did not know much about life. I believe this negative experience or misfortune is the consequence of the evil i did to my Late Uncle and his wife.

The Spirit of God gave me this understanding in the book of Romans 2 v 8 - 9

Paul, seeing no-one else has chimed in, I will attempt to reply to you but I find it hard to give you counsel for such a problem without knowing a lot more about you which is probably not a suitable thing to do online and I wonder whether you have sought help at your church?

If you want to have the ability to stand against the enemy of our souls, I suggest that you ask the Lord to cleanse you from ALL unrighteousness as in:

1 John 1:9,

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.

This requires entire submission to the headship of Christ and might be where the Lord is leading you, or it could be a biochemical problem causing your mind to become obsessed with something or even that you have not been saved yet. There are numerous possibilities.

I have not known the Lord to punish us in the way you describe for one sin and we are told that we will have trouble in the world and will be persecuted.

If you feel afraid that the Lord will bring more suffering to you despite you repenting and being sorry for your sin, then that is coming from the devil and you need to decide whether to listen to him or to God in scripture.

Brother Paul,

If you have truly repented of your sin,
then you can have assurance that your
sins have been forgiven and cleansed
by the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit will convict us of our sin,
and God will chasten us out of His great
love for us, but we must remember that
it is not God that puts condemnation on
us. Satan, who is the accuser of the
brethren, is the one that accuses the
saints. The devil comes to steal, kill,
and to destroy. Jesus Christ has come
that we might have an abundant life.

You must not receive the tormenting
accusations of the devil. Forgive all
those that have wronged you, and forgive
yourself, for there is no condemnation
to those that are in Christ Jesus. (Romans
8:1)
