Fundamentalist Pastor Pleads Guilty After Using Church as Drug Ring

sermonindex Mar 31, 2016

An Indiana pastor pleaded guilty after operating his church as a drug ring and manufacturing nearly 100 tons of synthetic marijuana, also known as "spice."

Fundamentalist pastor Robert Jaynes, who founded Irvington Baptist Church in 1998, reportedly employed church members in his drug enterprise.

Indy Star reports records show members of the small congregation wrote personal checks to foreign suppliers of illegal substances used to make spice.

Jaynes accepted a plea deal, as did church member Kirk Parsons. Jaynes pleaded guilty to multiple counts of conspiracy to distribute/intent to distribute controlled substances.

The two were arrested in 2014 in one of the biggest synthetic drug manufacturing busts in the country.

"Some 300 plus odd pounds of finished product and some additional amount of unfinished product," said Captain David Bursten, Spokesperson for Indiana State Police, at the time of the arrest.

Saints,

This is a warning and caution to us to show us the days we are living in. Deception is rampant and many are following in the ways of denomic deception, love of pleasure and money.

2 Timothy 3New King James Version (NKJV)

Perilous Times and Perilous Men
3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.

In 2012, as authorities across the country were cracking down on the illicit drug, Jaynes and Parsons moved from selling drugs they obtained from Sloan to making their own spice in Indiana. They also began selling some of their Indiana-made product to Sloan and his brother in St. Louis, who are alleged to have sold more than $18 million in spice.

Wow, just woooowwwww!!! I watched this guys preaching and besides being a "dead" and boring, he seems otherwise normal:-)

It just goes to show that you never know what is going on behind the scenes with some of these so called "men of God".

Quote: "This is a warning and caution to us to show us the days we are living in. Deception is rampant and many are following in the ways of demonic deception, love of pleasure and money. " Sad but true!

The problem with this particular pastor and "church " seems to be on many levels. A congregation should have godly elders, why didn't they realise that something is wrong?
Then there is the congregation, it is easy to sit there and say "amen " "praise god" etc, but they didn't have proper discernment .
I watched the clip that you linked and felt very uneasy. The preaching was dead, mainly garbage, I don't think i could have sat under his teaching for long,

May we shine as a true light in this dark world - help us Lord !

Brother, I am not sure if you read further in the news article or other sources. When the people were raiding the drug warehouse there were members of the Baptist Church packing the drugs!
