So On Wed of this past week I'm preparing to move my things back to town here which is about 23 miles away from where I was. I had been house sitting for a couple who had been on a mission trip to Israel for six weeks and they had returned. I'm loading my stuff into my truck at a casusal pace and when I had it almost all loaded I realized I couldn't find my keys. So I looked again for an hour or more probably. So the lady of the house said let's pray about this and she asked the Lord to show me where they were. After she prayed I looked a bit more and she said I didn't act like I had faith when she prayed. I said well really I didn't because I've prayed for lost keys before and never got anything but more frustrated. She said well let's call my husband who is in town and put him on speaker phone and let him pray. So she called him, he is my friend as well as she, and set the phone on speaker and he prayed and I thought well he sure seems to have faith. He prayed for peace for me and asked the Lord to remind me where I had put them. I thanked them and went out on the carport to look a bit more. About 6 minutes after he prayed and I am on the carport looking a phrase goes through my mind - "By the horse's head." I didn't pay it much mind because it sounded like a random thought or something. And I said there are no horses out here only chickens. But a few minutes later I remembered that a few nights before I had been doodling with a ink pen and sketched a horse's head on a piece of ordinary notebook paper because I'm interested in learning how to paint and drawing is recommended as a beginning step. Then I remembered I had a old shoe box full of papers I had taken out to my truck and I was pretty sure I had put that simple drawing in that box. So I thought maybe when I grabbed everything up the keys might be in that box also. It was very foolish in the natural sense of things but I went to the toolbox in my truck and found the box and the drawing of the horse's head was not in it but I looked further and the sketch was just a little ways away in the front seat covered up by other stuff. But I returned to the toolbox and the box with papers in it. So I looked down beside the box just a little ways to the bottom of the tool box and the keys had fallen down there when I put the box in the toolbox. I had inadvertently picked up the keys also with the box. But that picture of the horse's head was maybe 2 feet away or so in the front seat. Very close to there the keys were in the toolbox. So I found the keys. By the horse's head! The Lord didn't remind me where I had left the keys because I had no idea where they were. A sovereignly given phrase - "By the horse's head" - had led me to them. So there were my keys. By the horse's head!
I haven't been watching too many Bugs Bunny cartoons. I'm telling the truth in Christ. I've had words about this or that but never had something like that happen before. It's fresh and real. I ain't jivin' a bit.
