Duplicity

Destroyed by my duplicity
My double-mindedness
Protracted instability
of sin, repent, confess

Though hot at times, my love would cool
Then neither, just lukewarm
In my eyes wise became a fool
I looked on most with scorn

A lack of real integrity
finally took its toll
Led by my own duplicity
My lusts ensnared my soul

I'm telling my sad story
Though for me it's too late
Duplicity destroyed me
Avoid this awful fate!
