It was Robert Murray M'Cheyne who said, "For every look at self, take ten looks at Christ." Self-examining ourselves to make sure we are in Christ, its essential for our life in Christ but after we have repented and confessed our sins and by faith we receive his forgiveness and cleansing in his precious blood shed for us, we need to look up with the eyes of faith the beauty of our King and his glory will transform our souls and make us more Christ-like.
He is seated at the right hand of the Father right now and his radiance shines thru heavens to reach and permeate the soul of the faithful Christian who longs for the presence of the King and to gaze Him in the beauty of his holiness. As we behold our King of kings in his radiating glory, let us be transformed by his Spirit from one degree of glory to another degree of glory. The Father has predestined us to be confirmed to the image of his Son and it is He who works in us and thru us to accomplish His will.
Let us also contemplate his life and sufferings for us and with a thankful heart for so great salvation that He has provided for us, let us imitate Him and walk like He walked in that narrow path of holiness. If He is living in our hearts by faith, we have the Spirit of Christ to enable and empower us to follow the Lamb of God and to obey his commandments and this way bear much fruit for the glory of our Father in heaven.
