It's time to take a good look at..... the warnings of Christ.

I decided to post. Tired of seeing just doctrinal issues over and over...

We are warned that the end days will be as Noah's day. We are warned about Lot's wife. And there are others. The warning is about looking back at where we have been. (I'm not an English major)

We all pray for the Kingdom of God to come. We all would love to see God's name be hallowed again. But when everything begins to collapse all over the world and we find ourselves in a situation unlike we've ever seen, are we going to be like Israel when they left Egypt? How they remembered and longed for the melons, the leeks, etc. Are we going to long for Walmart and all the shelves stuffed with consumer goods. I see real problems ahead for the church unless these things are taught and the people prepared. No I don't mean become a prepper. There is a great need to personally address the question; "Can I really leave all this behind?"

I think this is a major coccern. Satan has filled the earth with all sorts of goodies, we lust for the biggest and best. My wife and I have talked about this for some time. And I believe we are at the door to the big event. I see the white horse rider already here. He has already sat on King Davids tomb and placed his crown on his head. I see a move afoot to marry some of the end time prophecies, mainly the one; "Come let us go to Zion and.... let the Lord teach us his ways"

If he thinks that that is who he is and he has already placed the crown upon his head on King David's tomb in the Upper Room, I would almost say that we are well under way.
As a church there is a need to prepare as never before in the area of deception. The cry will go forth soon; "He sits in Zion, go forth and be taught". But Jesus tells us to stay in our closet or to stay hidden, do not go in the desert.

The point of my rambling is to point out the need for pastors, teachers to address these issues. Otherwise many will fall.

Amen to the post. A time is coming shortly when we will not be able to buy or sell without being participants in the system of the anti-christ. There is coming a real and total choice for all those who call themselves by the name of Jesus. I have pondered my own position and my own ability to be compelled to completely opt out of society, be scorned and ridiculed and hated. Lose everything that is "mine." And simply stated, the more stuff and money you have, the harder the decision is going to be, it is simply human nature.

The cares of this life will be the greatest challenge before us. The cares of this life, the cares of our loved ones and families. When I consider what the martyrs faced in every century beginning with the first, it is just the same, only now, in the near future, all of Christendom will face this question. In our own strength we can do nothing, but only in His strength can we do all things for His names sake............bro Frank

Adela Yarbro Collins further denotes that the refusal to use Roman coins resulted in the condition where "no man might buy or sell" (Rev.13:17).[48]

Thus each transaction that used such coins was a reminder that people were advancing themselves economically by relying on political powers that did not recognize the true God."[49]

In 66, when Nero was emperor””about the time some scholars say Revelation was written””the Jews revolted against Rome and coined their own money.

The passage is also seen as an antithetical parallelism to the Jewish institution of tefillin ”“ Hebrew Bible texts worn bound to the arm and the forehead during daily prayer. Instead of binding their allegiance to God to their arm and head, the place is instead taken with people's allegiance to the beast."

Certainly sounds like a plausible interpretation to me. Not saying it is absolutely correct but it is as plausible as any futurist explanation of tattoos and chips and bar codes etc etc.

First of all the book of Revelation was written in the midts of the 90s A.D that's what the historic traditional view is and also that of most biblical scholars.

That's why John died of natural death in his old age, of all the apostles he was the only one spared martyrdom and why was that? Because God wanted to reveal to him of the things that are soon going to pass and to inform the Church of his plan about the end times. What's going to happens so they would not be ignorant but take heart and believe God is in control even in the midts of the greatest tribulation in world history, he is the only one Sovereign, Amen and Jesus Christ is the Victor, He has conqured the Devil on the Cross by his death and resurection and his coming to show the whole world who is the true King and Lord.

You can be a christian and still not believe the truths of revelation, there were those Christians who in the second century denied that Revelation was Gods word, they were ignorant and did not include it with other apostolic scriptures. We know that the disciples of John or the disciples of the disciples of John believed in Revelation and taught it to the early Church. The most famous early Church Fathers in the 2nd century held to historic premellenialistic view that they received from the Apostle John or his disciples.

Allegorical interpretation of Scriptures (thx to Origen who had a tendecy to allegorize Scriptures) and especially Revelation was made popular in the 4th and 5th centuries by Augustine and other Church Fathers, especially in a time when persecution from the Roman government had ceased against Christians. I find that very interesting observation the 5th century Church believes in an allegorical interpretation of Revelation (that view became the teaching of RCC during the middle ages) after she is in an unholy alliance with the falling roman empire.
