The Morning Watch - Part 1 by Oswald J. Smith

Description: Oswald Smith puts an emphasis on the 'morning' in this psalm. 'You will be what your pastor, leader is.' He gives also a strong point on the responsibility of the minister, 'you show me a carnal pastor I will show you a carnal church'. So it is of paramount importance that the leaders be real with God and be spiritual. He says the only way to have a real spiritual stamina with God its through the 'morning watch' spending time with God daily.
and thank YOU, and God love you, for yet again, choosing to share with me, yet another Godly man of God, that I might not have ever heard of....and sharing in the Deep Things of God we both treasure, in this case, the "morning watch", which as the Holy Spirit leads...IS most holy, is most lovely, is most pure.
when man builds a building, he first attends to the foundation, so that in "building" the day IN God, in Jesus, when our eyes open after sleep, the morning watch is the Foundation, and oh what Glorious "Building Materials" have been provided to us, we have the Word, we have God the Holy Spirit, and we have the Blessed Occasion to be alone with God in the still of the morning, when the world is quiet.
Us....alone with God, building a foundation on the Rock, as Dr. Smith said, to Study( I think of it as "eating" of the Word) the Bible, and prayer, which I know is a dialogue with God, intimate and close.
You posted part 1 of "The Morning Watch", so I will join you and post part 2:

as he expounds from 1 Peter 2:3
"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:"
God bless and love you, I do, neil

Listen to freely downloadable audio sermons by the speaker Oswald J. Smith in mp3 format. Was a Canadian pastor, author, and missions advocate. He founded The People's Church in Toronto in 1928. Over the course of eighty years he preached more than 12,000 sermons in 80 countries, wrote thirty-five books (with translations into 128 languages), as well as 1,200 poems, of which 100 have been set to music, including "Deeper and Deeper" (first line "Into the heart of Jesus").
The great burden of Oswald J. Smith's Christian life was to see the lost come to the Lord. He was well known for the motto: "We talk of the Second Coming; half the world has never heard of the first." and "No one has the right to hear the gospel twice, while there remains someone who has not heard it once."
