Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu blasted a UNESCO decision divorcing Judaism from the Temple Mount Saturday night, after a motion over the weekend only referred to the site with Arabic terminology.
"This is yet another absurd UN decision," Netanyahu stated late Saturday. "UNESCO ignores the unique historic connection of Judaism to the Temple Mount, where the two temples stood for a thousand years and to which every Jew in the world has prayed for thousands of years."
"The UN is rewriting a basic part of human history and has again proven that there is no low to which it will not stoop," he added.
UNESCO's Executive Board passed a motion Friday referring to the Temple Mount solely as 'Al-Aqsa Mosque' - and the Western Wall as the Al-Buraq Plaza.
Despite being the holiest site in Judaism, the Temple Mount remains under Jordanian jurisdiction. Israeli police, in an attempt to appease the Muslim Waqf which was left in charge of the Temple Mount compound after the 1967 Six Day War, ban Jews from praying or performing any other form of worship.
If these reports are true, I'm betting there is hardly a Muslim in the world who would take laying down the seizure of the Temple Mount by the U.N. Ironic, Jews are not welcome or allowed to pray here but it's the Jewish Israeli government who is maintaining the right for Muslims to own and operate this site.
A lady who is a missionary to Israel came to our church a few weeks ago and said every time she has tried to pray there and has been asked each time if she is a Muslim. When she has replied no she has been asked by a large beefy Muslim to leave the property.
The UN didn't "take" anything. But, it did enough to make you go "uh oh."

Do note the references DO include naming the Western Wall Plaza just that, albeit in quotes obviously intended to imply "so-called" very immediately after repeated uses of the phrase "so-called" in reference to other Israeli-named places and projects in the Temple Mount area. Note also the Western Wall Plaza uses in quotes appear next to the Islamic names for the plaza NOT in quotes as if the Islamic name is the only valid name.
