It's all about Jesus

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" John 14:6

Being a Christian is simply this; having a real living growing "relationship" with The Risen Christ. Without this real "relationship" with Christ all our religious affections; feelings, hope or religious works; including tithing, church attendance, Bible reading, Bible studying, prayer, good works etc. are useless.

"All who believe in the Son of God know in their hearts that this testimony is true. Those who don’t believe this are actually calling God a liar because they don’t believe what God has testified about his Son. And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life." 1 John 5:10-12

A real relationship with Jesus is as the scriptures continually declare, our only hope. There is no other way offered to us from our creator, but Jesus. You can have everything else religion seems to offer, but if you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus; in the end you will find out the scriptures were correct, and you took the wrong path.

Amen dear brother!

O to be intimately acquainted with my Saviour, to plunge into the Godhead's deepest sea and be lost in love's immensity!

The anointing of the Holy Spirit dear saints is this open heaven, it is to come under His Lordship and have an ever increasing revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ.

And he said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” John 1:51

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God Matthew 5:8

We would do well just to learn the significance in those two words..."In Christ"

I often think of the words by A.B. Simpson,

Once it was the blessing, Now it is the Lord;
Once it was the feeling, Now it is His Word.
Once His gifts I wanted, Now the Giver own;
Once I sought for healing, Now Himself alone.

"the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations...which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." - Colossians 1:26-27

This is what sets the gospel apart from any religion, including "the Christian religion." When Christ comes in, religion and speculative theology go out, "that in all things He might have the preeminence." - 1:18

1 Peter 2:6&7(a)

6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious:

A good gauge for us as we endeavor toward a Christ-centered life...

Can you truly say He(Christ) is precious to you!?
Christ may be "good" or "nice" but is He PRECIOUS to you?
