Eileen thank you so much for that. I have not read Thomas Cook before now but am going through New Testament Holiness with much joy from that site.

The writer of that book in the link that brother Colin gave - Robert Evans, is so contradictory in his assessment of the doctrine that Thomas Cook taught and lived, that is to say, perfection.

On the one hand, he says that Cook was a holy man, who gave no-one any reason to doubt what he preached was entirely lived out in his life, in contrast with other holiness preachers who did not live up to their preaching and claims, and on the other he claimed that Cook did not understand the logical conclusion if what he taught, that he did not understand 'complicated personalities' ( most likely referring to his own) noting that Cook was NOT theologically taught.

He further goes on to describe the amazing ministry of the man and revivals which resulted in Australia and New Zealand.

I think it was Evans himself that was ignorant and untaught (by the Spirit).
