Praying for the SermonIndex Ministry.

sermonindex Oct 14, 2003

[image]Click here to download the prayer list for SermonIndex.net [36.0 KB]You can download and print off this prayer list and post it somewhere so that you can pray over this ministry when God leds. Your prayers are coveted and much needed brothers and sisters.I believe that prayers made for this ministry are very important. PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS LIGHTLY. I believe that satan doesn't want this ministry to be on the internet, because it is changing people's lives and will continue to do so with more impact as we petition and pray to God.-----------------------Here are a list of things to pray for:1. Myself (Greg Gordon). I work on this site everyday and am having many opportunities to go into other ministry venues and would appreciate prayer over these areas of my life: bible school (attending part-time), relationship (long-distance), personal relationship with God, Ministry to local believers and churchs (home-church).2. Sermons. That when people listen and download the sermons that they will hear their messages and be impacted spiritually and driven closer to God in prayer and relationship. That people would be burdened to share these messages on CD, etc.3. Protection. Over the servers that are running this site. Over myself from spiritual attacks as I work in this ministry.4. Glory. That all glory may be given to Jesus. In the forums, in the sermons, that people would realize its not about anything except for Him.5. Financial. That God would burden people to give to this ministry to help keep it going. That He would burden many people to become ministry partners at $5US a month. That people wouldn't find the donations link and the partnership links as a stumbling block, its all for God and all the money is God's.----------------------------------------If you feel led print this out or jot down some requests that you would be able to pray for on a daily basis.

I believe that prayers made for this ministry are very important. PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS LIGHTLY. I believe that satan doesn't want this ministry to be on the internet, because it is changing people's lives and will continue to do so with more impact as we petition and pray to God.If I could exhort us all to anything today, let it be this:We must PRAY!I believe with all my heart that what we have here is unigue. That this site and those who come here are not the results of happenstance. This is the Lord's work.Regardless of our doctrinal differences, there is a heart beat here and I state that it is the beating heart of the Holy Spirit. As the importance of a constant flow of blood to the heart and to life, then prayer is that blood line of support to the Body of Christ.I beseech you brethren, LET US PRAY!Pray for Greg!Pray over the items in his original posting.Read over the other postings on this site and pray over them.Pray for our pastors.(See sbd's post re:"Where are they?")Oh! I believe the devil is not at all pleased with us! Well it's about time!Christian, put on your armor and fight!I appeal not to your emotions but to your heart. To your faith! To your God and my God, let His Glory be known!Pray in the spirit.Pray in your car.Pray in the shower.Pray while you work, while you play,..pray Right NOW!Pray for revival! For the persecuted. For our missionaries. For the lost. For the alcoholic and the drug addict. For the homosexual, and the glutton and the criminal and the poor AND the rich. For our leaders and despots. For the Muslim, the Hindu, the Buddhist, Mormons, JW......There is an endless stream of thought over that which can be prayed for.Of what priorities to be placed over another, ask the Lord to lead. But at least let it begin here.Cover Greg with you prayers.Let us all be an encouragement to him.Do support if you are able. But at least pray.

1. Myself (Greg Gordon). I work on this site everyday and am having many opportunities to go into other ministry venues and would appreciate prayer over these areas of my life: bible school (attending part-time), relationship (long-distance), personal relationship with God, Ministry to local believers and churchs (home-church).Please brothers and sisters, pray for this Ministry that God would encourage and strengthen believers in the truth and convict of sin and unrighteousness.I am also asking that you pray for Myself (Greg Gordon), I am 24 yrs old and running SermonIndex. I think I go through just as many problems and difficulties as any other believer would, but please pray for me using the above quoted points. I have been going through alot of hard difficulities recently and I really need YOUR prayers. Please just PRAY if the Lord burdens you too. :-(

Thanks for the good website. It's encouraging to read the posts and discussions and find others that want to serve the Lord and see his kingdom advanced. Keep up the good work. You're in my prayers.

Reinforcements. The shrapnel has been flying around here as well.Begining to wonder if many shrink back from intercession because of the possibility of sustaining injurys and even casualties. Many are MIA. This original post a case in point. But maybe that's good, in a twist on Leonard Ravenhill's words "If you don't mean it don't pray it" or in other words, don't say "I will pray for you" and then just blow it off. I am just as guilty of this and have been convicted for it.Nonetheless, we MUST do this. If we are the soldiers we purport to be, how is it that we can disobey orders? More so, what makes us think we are going to be able to accomplish the smallest victory in this battle in the stength of the flesh, without prayer?Prayerless-ness is making cannibals out of all of us. We can debate and study and learn, all good and proper things. But if we don't get our feet muddy in the realm of this war, engage ourselves into combat with the weapons we have been given, why bother to put on the armor? Why take up the sword if we don't plan to yield it?Like it or not, we are in the thick of it. The victory has been won and we are on mop up duty. The skirmishes get hot and heavy, how is it that we can take so lightly one of our own asking for backup? But there is ground being taken. Taken for our Commander. I may only be a private in this army, but I have experienced lately that the more intercession I am engaged in, the more the heat gets turned up and at times it gets Hot!Those I have been fighting for, some are coming into the saftey of the DMZ, some are still captive and others MIA. Have taken some hit's myself, and even was taken by surprise by it, till it dawned on me that the enemy is being wounded and is striking back. It's easy to forget these things when you are in the heat of the battle." Be sober, be viligant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world" 1 Peter 5:8,9We need to sustain our commrades. Let us go out front before them and protect them from behind. Is there any doubt in anyones mind that this site is not being welcomed by the enemy of our souls? Especially the fact that this is the kind of preaching/teaching that is needed and missing in our current culture. Can't you just see him cringing at the thought, that what he had thought was long ago buried has now been risen from the dead to give strength to the truth that he has so succesfully distorted?Admitedly, I realize I don't know the half of it. I venture to guess that it is far more vast and raging in areas that I know nothing about and that there are some here who are veterans of this warfare that would put me to silence.GregI am praying for you brother.A couple of notes.Had sat on this for a couple of days before posting, interesting the timing of this post:Spiritual Warfare and also this one from Lars re: Andrew Murray Waiting on God as I am reading "Living A Prayerful Life" by the same author.Lastly, hope my thoughts make some kind of sense, being somewhat a "scatterbrain" it is even more confounded by this head cold.

GregBut thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.The Lord bless you my brother, as He has.
