I think it would help everyone to remember that the Counter Reformation agenda of the Vatican has never ceased. It has been a multi-century battle until they are satisfied (completely put down any opposition to it's doctrines).

Together 2016 is the fruit (bad fruit) of the continuiing Counter Reformation which may not be subtle to us, but is to many, many people because they use Jesus' name, appeal to feelings and misuse the Lord's call for unity. Jesus does not want unity at the expense of truth. That would be a "different" Jesus. Many men co-op His name for their own purposes.

Richard Bennett's new article is very timely regarding the Vatican's continuiing agenda.

Through out history the remnant believed that the pope was the antichrist seat.

But now we have these like Walid Shoebat teaching that the antichrist will be Muslim.

It would seem to me, and I use Shoebat as an example, that by so drastically shifting the paradigm understanding on that issue, the resistance to the pope seat is being broke down.

Yet if the pope seat will not be the seat of the antichrist, and the pope will not be the antichrist, then why continue to identify the pope seat as that of the antichrist? This seat can adequately be resisted without incorrectly identifying it as the seat of antichrist.

From my understanding, The remnant including the Waldensians/Albigenses through out, including the likes of John Wickliffe, Tyndale etc. seem from my research thus far to be rather consistant on there basic understanding of the subject.
The only exception that I have found thus far might be amoungst some of the early anabaptist, none of which I have found to speak of a muslim antichrist.

Shoebat does not seem to adequately be resisting it.
It seems that he has went catholic.

It is my opinion that the anti-christ will likely be American. This country is, without a doubt in my mind, the revived Roman Empire right down to being a republic and having a house and a senate and having Europeans that forged this land into the country that it is now. The pope will at least be the false prophet who legitimizes the anti-christ...............bro Frank

Joel Richardson does set forth a pretty convincing case that the Antichrist will probably be a Muslim coming out of Turkey. His research is derived from the culture of the Old Testament and the countries that are listed in Ezekiel 38 and 39.

Not saying I embrace this view. But Joel's case is pretty convincing.
