Mexican Protestants continue to face pressure for leaving 'traditionalist' churches

Mexican Christians who branch away from the "traditionalist” village churches, which blend aspects of indigenous paganism and popular Catholicism, continue to face pressure to return to the fold or leave their villages.

World Watch Monitor reported recently on the case of Lauro Pérez Núñez, a convert to Protestant Christianity, who was last year ordered to leave his village and has only recently been permitted to return home.

Good post brother. There is a dear old brother who I communicate with for years, who is a missionary in south Mexico. He will tell you of people being killed for leaving the Catholic Church after being born again. Shunning is common not just in these third world Catholic countries but also through-out Europe. The born again man was despised in Ireland by the Catholic and the Protestants...........bro Frank
