Grace & Truth

J
JFW Jul 13, 2016

Some say grace is free, and as a gift so should it be, tho it came at the highest price, for our freedom cost my dear Savior His life. Doubtful those who witnessed this considered it cheap as the last nail hammered clean through His feet.
The Grace that saves, a most precious thing, the whole human soul does it redeem, so how can it be that a Grace so Holy could be treated as a common thing and beheld so lowly?
Grace has a husband whose name is Truth and the love between them by their fruit is proofed. The world tries to take her from her husbands care to separate her and having their share, forever faithful to Him she remains knowing they exist for the Lamb who was slain. To this they testify eternally, laid bare in creation for all to see. What Glory revealed the humble eye meets, every sin committed this victory defeats. Tho' the prideful see not this glory proclaimed and hear not the Gospel 'n consider it vain, repentance to these is a dirty word tho' for believers it's call is mercy assured. Be ever mindful and so handle with care in meekness and love- the souls who look and see not the dove, offer the gift and be not ashamed. For the Glory of God is the Lamb who was slain~

Because God (and by extension, His Church) has an Enemy whose motive is to sow religious seeds (self-righteousness/works oriented) that cause us to FALL from grace.

Great question!

Well (for me) "grace" as a term/concept has been surgically removed from the truth of scripture and has been morphed or reconstituted as many different things,...hence the distortion that you speak of.

Grace without truth is grace without Jesus- and as such lacks the divine influence on a heart, compelling it by faith to act in love.

I think Julius makes a valid point in that we do have an enemy with a definitive if not opportunistic agenda. However I believe while our enemy has tactics, he lacks a strategy. Much like a cat falling from a tree grasping at branches,...if the branches are secure in the trunk tho they may be scratched and scraped they will not be broken off by the claws of the cats fall, tho if they are dry and withered they will be broken off and fall along side the cat, suffering the same fate.
Grace is like the sap that keeps us flexible/humble and able to withstand the weight of attacks and persecution. Whereas faith is the utilization of said sap/grace to bear fruit-
