Kazakhstan: Christians Fined for Meeting Together to Worship

Three Christians in Kazakhstan have been fined for meeting together to worship, according to ChristianToday.com.

Religious freedom in Kazakhstan has been increasingly coming under attack. In 2012, the government cut the number of officially-recognized faiths from nearly 50 to only 17. There are consequences for practising a faith which is not recognized by the government.

In Nepal believers are fined 150,000 nepalese rupees if they convert to another religion or those who evangelize can face up to 2 years in jail. Things are getting worse there. 150,000 nepalese rupees is about $1400 USD which is a huge amount of money that most could never afford.
