Please pray for my relationship with a young man at church

Hello all,

I thought I'd post my little prayer request here.

I go to a small church in which a single young man has been friendly with me. I'm in my mid-twenties and have been praying earnestly for a godly husband. This man is kind, gentle, hardworking, stable, and God-fearing and I have grown to love and respect him very much. I'm a little anxious though because while he seems to be interested in me, he only stares and does nothing. I'm about to make a decision to move to another state for a brief position I got there and I feel very anxious because I do not want to leave before I hear from him.

I am still praying as to whether it's God's will for us to be together, but at this point I have perfect peace about marriage to him, if he proposes it. The uncertainty is breaking my heart. I'd appreciate your kind prayers.

This comes from a woman old enough to be your mother!! Has he shown any interest in the area of marriage, specifically marriage to you? Friendly doesn't equal wanting to marry you. Please, don't listen to anyone putting ideas into your head about this man, the Lord doesn't put ideas into our heads; well meaning people do though. You could be all prepared for marriage to this man and it hasn't even entered into his mind once.

I do not know you personally, so this comes from someone oblivious to your family and friends but if you have a brief position in another state perhaps you should take it and focus on the Lord and not him. And if the Lord wakes him up, then praise God!

Dlight, you asked for kind prayer.

My prayer is this: Father, your daughter has opened her heart here and before you and you know her completely. Would you have her delay or forego her work, your provision for her, in order to stay in place and ask first whether you will arrange a man's heart and then to wait even more to see what your answer is and then wait even more to see what his response would be? Or, would you have her walk in the light of your provision for her now and deposit her hopes for marriage with you while she leaves for the brief position, confident that if the hoped-for marriage is your work that you will lead both Dlight and the young man to your work of uniting them? Or, something else entirely?

We ask in genuine love for you and for her benefit, Father. Glorify yourself in Dlight's life, and bring her to the peaceful wisdom of trusting you so that uncertainty does not break her heart. I ask that you move swiftly for her, but we know you are not on our timetable.

What exactly is it that leads you to believe he is interested in you? Have you been dating? How long?
