Gospel Fellowships Gathering - August 27th – Fredericton, Canada

Saints,

The main goal and vision of the meeting is to encourage believers in North America to connect, meet and gather in house church small gatherings. As part of this intention many house church leaders and house church networks have shown interest to participate. We also see this as a time of unity and a place where the Holy Spirit can connect us as fellow believers. We desire this to be a time of encouragement and equipping, and a place where believers can meet and learn more of what it is to be a part of the vibrant witness and fellowship of house churches around the world.

Anyone is invited to the gathering time and they do not have to be meeting in a house church. We pray it can be a time to encourage believers to walk in obedience to Jesus Christ (James 1:22).

Note: SermonIndex is endorsing these events as good places to go to connect with like-minded believers, find fellowship to start meeting, start prayer gatherings, small house meetings etc. We encourage saints to attend these meetings in replacement of the annual SermonIndex events.

Dear brother,

As you have requested here is a short synopsis of the meetings from my perspective. We had 8 regional gatherings over the period of 30 months, attendance was from 7 people to 30 in some meetings. What prevailed was a John 17 unity amongst believers from all different backgrounds and theologies. Also there was a sense of the presence of Jesus Christ in each meeting and we are reminded of the promise of our Lord:

Matthew 18:20 New International Version (NIV)

20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

There were various brethren that spoke at each gathering and some meetings included a participatory house church gathering. Some were baptized in the Holy Spirit and even one brother was water baptized! and sent out with the laying on of hands to start a house church meeting in his local area.

Various house churches represented each gathering as many as 7 different house church leaders attended one gathering alone. In every gathering there were some who were seeking the Lord to start a meeting in their own home and area, they were encouraged mutually by others and some mentorship relationships were established. BigLife www.big.life were at almost all the meetings and their servant leaders shared some testimonies of persecution and church growth in places like pakistan, afganistan and other closed countries. The humility of these young men mostly who came was wonderful from this house church movement that is world-wide ie in over 20 countries.

We are praying towards seeing many other regional gatherings in the end of this year and next, God willing. Also there is prayer towards having intensive 2-3 day training (10 hour+ days) of practical 30 minute modules towards James 1:22 obedience in different areas of house church work. These meetings will mostly be for those who are house church leaders or are looking to be involved in starting a house meeting.

Here are a few testimonies from servant leaders in various gatherings:

"We had a very blessed and inspiring meeting. The Lord was present and led us. The theme of the "Power of the Holy Spirit" and Love carried throughout the further talks and presentations. There was also the sense of preparing for persecution and that we did not have the time to be busy with minor differences separating us. We read the Chinese interview from Brother Paul which moved all to see our current state more clearly. There were I believe 25 present. Blessings and Love.”

"The meeting was marvellous and the presence of God was felt by all. Worship and testimony and sharing in the morning, some worship and prayer meeting in the afternoon.”
