I have always said; the language of faith is thankfulness and praise.
Thankfulness recognizes God's power on our behalf, recognizes He did for us what we could not do for ourselves.
To enter His rest is to cease from our own works.
It's not in our achieving but in receiving
Not attaining but obtaining by faith
Not our trying but our dying...to own efforts.
Believe He has done it and receive His gift with a thankful heart!

I like the story of Mary and Martha. Mary at His feet "receiving". Martha, "busy about too many things, but Mary hath chosen the good part which will not be taken from her."
Luke 10:39-42 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. The Lord is leading me down this path of simplicity. My own personal experience is that there is so much ego involved in wars of words. Sophistry is the playground of the devil. Way too many times I have found myself in this playground, competing against others when it came to words, but not able to separate pride and ego from my positions. I ask for forgiveness from all who have read many of my replies and interactions with others on this forum over the years, they were often duplicitous and egotistical............bro Frank

Amen brother, this is unfortunately the characteristic of much that passes for "passionate" Christianity. May the Lord take us all beyond that place where is matters to us that we win a discussion or are even heard? What a sad place to be in to think our opinion matters one wit or even worse to cajole and chastise others from behind a keyboard. I too must repent for such a disposition for the only thing that matters is Jesus and Him glorified. Winning a war of words is the work of the devil...well said brother! Loving my brother and considering him as more precious and important than myself is the work of the Spirit of Christ. I still have a long long long way to go in this regard. Lord teach me Your ways!!!!

Amen! We can rest from all of our own self-justification, and performance orientation, trying to make ourselves righteous or atone for our sins by "trying harder".
Yes Karina, it is the few who enter the narrow gate - Christians that is. The rest are self justifying as Julius said.
