Why some brethren are EMBRACED at SI

sermonindex Sep 8, 2016

(How 'bout that?!?)

I would like to start a Thread inviting SI frequenters (or not) to share how they have been Blessed by the fellowship of SI Members, Moderators and Sermons / Teachings!

Okay, I will start...

SI Moderators: Wow! Bless your souls! The time, attention, devotion, love and everything else Good that sheep would want in a Good Shepherd is wrapped up in what y'all do day and night to keep this blessed venue available to saints who, at the end of the day, are here b/c we LOOVVVEE God's Word sooooooo much!

And, yes, you do keep this place safe and it SI stands out as a legitimate place to fellowship in God's Word in a mine field of...well, y'all know what's out there...scary, yeah? Not here. Thanks to the Blessed SI Moderators.

Okay, I'm going to get specific...by naming names associated with blessings I've derived from fellowship with SI members.

TMK,

You are among one of the first SI members I've had contact with since coming to this fellowship...

Your posts are sooooo thought-provoking and you have this way of raising questions and points of reflection that birth divine light into our souls.

You are so charming and funny about it, too. I don't know you, but your posts display a genuine appreciation for the Word...you take it seriously and inspire sober-minded consideration (but not at the expense of joy, mirth and love).

Thank you, TMK (Beloved Believer...whomever you are)

Love-in-Christ,

I know that you are a Lover of Christ because you appear to take risks in your posts because you seem to soooo Love the Truth of Christ.

And you always bounce back from the risk of offense (as is characteristic of "Truth") because you really are speaking and posting from Love. You always drag Love along in your Forum posting - for - Truth.

Your Bob Dylan quotation was sooooo Awesomely inspiring!

You should change your Login Name, not to your birth name, but from "NotDarkYet" to "Light"...

Again, I have no idea who you are, but You ARE His so, what else do I need to know. The remarkable things about you DO come forth in your posts. Be assured of that from a very, very critical reader (to a fault).

Love-in-Christ,

kyp

TMK and Bearmaster

I have been thinking for sometime now, how much I apperciate the ability that these two have in not being offended.
You can disagree with them and even after a strongly heated arguement by the next subject : there is no malice no resentment, no trying to get even, no avoidance etc. from them.

Again, don't know you apart from your posts...

...what a blessing your posts are!!!

Your posts have this way of giving simultaneous comfort and conviction via your precious posts ranging from a word count of 1 to 1,000.

I love how you responded to one VERY popular thread whereby everybody had loads to say...and yet, YOU summarized what everyone was saying with one simple word..."no" (you posted). My, how it stood out from the rest!

And I love your phrases like "taking the mickey" (which created an opportunity for me to explain to someone what that actually means - in UK-ese and I am American NOT English!!!).

Reminding us of the power of being concise in our fellowship.

You are a poster after my own heart because You Get It! ALWAYS an assurance of Christ's Love dripping from every single word you type.

Amazing! You really do put love first in your posts and I can so sense your love for the brethren in your responses that you seem reluctant, at times, to disagree with them.

And when you do, one can hardly tell.

That is a rare gift for communication (as your diplomacy is not even intentional, its just shines forth) and it fosters trust.

Thank You,
Love-in-Christ,

I apperciate your encouraging words

I wish that where the case but it simply is not.

To often I have let my passion's and offence's take over my post and ruined relationships on SI.

But thank you in that I feel uplifted and encouraged and strengthened by your comments

Bear is one of the earliest posters I remember when I joined SI.

We don't see eye to eye on everything but I greatly admire your consistency, your love for the persecuted church, your humility and reminding us all the time that it's all about Him.

You even got a great song stuck in my head-Just give me Jesus.

"To often I have let my passion's and offence's take over my post and ruined relationships on SI."

Since when is "passion" for God's Word offensive? We REALLY are alike, Brother proudpapa!

Brother appollus had to lovingly exhort me for putting myself down (he's next on my "HitList of the Beloved") instead of seeing my "self" and personality as it is immersed into Christ's identity.

You may not see your own "inspiring" effect, but your words in your posts reflect it in spite of yourself.

Love-in-Christ,

kyp

Marc-- you and I often rankle each other (nor sure if rankle is a word) but I know you are a smart guy who knows his stuff. You make me think and rethink-- which is always a good thing.

You come on strong but that is probably just your passion. Keep it coming.

I have always been blessed by all of your posts. Your heart comes through loud and clear. I suspect out real life personalities are similar.

I am so glad you are a part of the forum.

Your goodness and devotion is threatening to me because it shines light on places in me that I do not want to look.

You do a great job moderating this forum in a humble and Christ-honoring way, and I appreciate all you do. I cringe sometimes when I know that you have to deal with some unsavory behavior but you always do it well.

Wouldn't it be awesome if there was no unsavory behavior on a Christian forum? It would make your job easier.

"Brother appollus had to lovingly exhort me for putting myself down (he's next on my "HitList of the Beloved") instead of seeing my "self" and personality as it is immersed into Christ's identity."

Your insight summarized a revelation in which I was desperately in need of...via my hearing of Matthew's gospel today (in an overzealous effort to start "bearmaster's" 30 day NT challenge)...

Thank you for reminding me to rest and abide in Christ's identity in me as my utmost form of "self" expression.

Wow! Thank you. You didn't have to reassure me. Thank you.

Love-in-Christ,

PP- I so appreciate you because I usually agree with you! :)

Now there are a few areas where we disagree but we can always agree to disagree without getting nasty. You have shifted my thinking in certain areas and that takes some doing.

Dont ever stop your quirky way of posting. We need some quirkiness- but there is always depth to your quirkiness and sometimes I have to read it twice to get the depth of it.

I am glad you joined the forum!

Forrest-

Dude you are another guy that is threatening to me. I sense you are a pretty young guy but I could be wrong- in any event I can tell you are sold out to the Lord and I appreciate everything you type.

I might push back a little sometime, but it is only in the interest of discussion and perhaps learning from each other. Keep the good stuff coming.

Mark- you are another guy I really appreciate because I agree with you 95% of the time. Love your sense of humor and your straight talking. You bring a good degree of moderation to the forum, and I can tell you are devoted to the Lord.

You have been a blessing by posting the link to Nik Ripkin!!!

You introduced me to a new spiritual father and teacher. That is precious to me, sherri2!!!!!

I listened to the entirety of his message on "Believers in Persecution and the 3 Non-Negotiables"

What a revelation! Now, the blessing of just that one post is going to provide me with spiritual food for months as I cruise through even more of his messages!

I haven't been this excited since sitting and learning at the feet of the late Ray C. Stedman! I have devoured his bible exposition...

Nowww, Sister sherri2, I've got a new teacher who is going to amplify this revelation about Christian persecution which the Lord has put on my heart (thanks to my Brother-in-Christ, bearmaster's time, wisdom and fellowship).

I love you in Christ Jesus,

kyp

Frank-

I know I irritate you sometimes but that is only because out of self defense I push back on some of your posts. Its that light shining on corruption thing.

You are a true prophetic voice on the forum and I take every word you type seriously. I am so thankful you are part of this forum.

Travis-

Always the voice of reason. Always very thoughtful and if truth be told I can hardly bring myself to ever disagree with you, even if I do- which is rare. The way you post reflects time spent with Him.
