Is it a Sin to Vote in the Upcoming Presidential Election?

It is not a sin for me in general to vote.

If some believe that it would be a sin for them to vote, than it is for them.

I am open to hear there testimoney and understandings of the Scriptures to as why they think that it is a sin for them to personaly vote.
and I can respect that.

And I feel it fine for me to give my own understanding on like subjects

I however am not interested in others trying to be a head covering for me and trying to intimidate or manipulate me into believing that it is a sin for me to vote or for them to try and impose any other number of convictions that they might have that differs with my own.

The wars and fightings through out Church history as well as on SI is because we try to impose our convictions on others, in these sort of matters, instead of just simply sharing our understandings and thoughts on the issue's and than leaving it to the Lord to direct others the way that He see's fit.

it would only be a sin to vote for one of the candidates running ;)

If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

When the candidates make a proclamation as that of a Christian they enter the arena where the Christian community and true church of Jesus Christ can render judgement on these individuals and their doctrine.

The title of the thread seems to be asking the question if it is a sin to vote in this specific election.
but the context of the questions seem to be asking if it is a sin to vote in general.
those are two different questions.

As far as comparing sending children to public schools with voting in general. I do not see any comparison

When we send our very impressionable children to Public Schools we are giving partial custody of our children over to the government, we are handing them over to the government for the government to "educate" "influence" them.

In contrast When we Vote it is just the opposite, The voters are the ones influencing the Government

But I'll vote nonetheless.

I have seen some of the threads regarding public education. Though I have not read all of the posts it seems that some of the forum consider it a sin to send their children to public school. Some have said that it's a separation issue. That is separation from the world. I do not want to get caught up in that discussion.

I agree with you. I am not sure why the Moderators tolerate such posts in those threads. I am really surprised. I think it is because all the moderators home school their kids hence they are not worried about others who send their kids to Public school to be condemned. I do not find any other reason. I am not accusing the moderators here but just guessing the reasons. If SI tolerates such posts then it means SI is in agreement with such posts.

Now regarding separation, if Physical separation from World is necessary then where do we draw the line? Even doing secular job is sin.

This is exactly what Apostle Paul writes about in 1 Cor 14, to one eating meat offered to Idols is acceptable but to another it is not. Each one eats or do not eat by faith. No one is supposed to be a judge for another in such matter.

I never dared to venture into the public education thread, so I know not what is in there. But concerning the right to vote, we were blessed to be born in a country with a right to vote for every citizen. Is it a flawless system, no it is not.

But still God blessed you and me to born in this century, it's a shame (but not a sin) to not vote, imho.

You are not voting for a person, you are voting for a way of life. Which candidate do you believe is able to better give you that way of life? To me that is what it ultimately boils down to.

So if you believe that it is a sin to vote, in reality, you have remained silent in the face of evil. You have chosen to do nothing about your right to vote and take a stand against
corruption in government. You have a voice, yet you remain silent, using the excuse that we are of another Kingdom. Yet God has called us not to passivity and complacency, but to be salt and light in the society that we live in. The Word of God has told us that we are to pray for those in authority, so obviously leaders are important to God.

Nothing in this nation will change without the prayers and cooperation of the children of God, and that includes having honest leaders that will not continue to lead this nation in a path of destruction.

Our faith is not in leaders, government, or politics. Out faith is in God, and only He can change hearts, and revive the Church.

The next president could be selecting as many as 3 Supreme Court justices.

So we as Christians that are opposed to abortion have the opportunity to elect a president that would select conservative Supreme Court justices that more than likely would overturn Roe Vs. Wade, and would have a Christian worldview concerning marriage, and the nation of Israel.

I never vote according to who could do more to pad my bank account. I always vote for the candidate and party that is most in line with my Christian values which I get from the Word of God.

Or are you "declaring", "It is sin for ME to vote?"
Or, are you asking for help and wondering if it is sin for YOU to vote?

Believe me, MY opinion about YOUR issue with voting is worthless...
The Lord isn't going to ask, "Did you ask dspks?", "What did dspks say about voting?"
YOU need to inquire of the LORD whether YOU should vote or not.

He will lead you to vote or not to vote... just as He has lead others to vote or not to vote.

Whew, that should take a load of worry off ALL of us! :)
