why am growing SO reticent to post on this forum, as I have NO desire to argue with you, or anyone here.
Understood. I know it looks like I'm picking a fight but that's not my intention. The brother asked a simple question and you used it as an oppurtunity to imply he lacks something in Christ because he did not simply pray and ask God for the answer (all in the pretext of "agape" love of course) There is no sin in his question so the comment should not have been made. You don't need to make him feel like he is not measuring up to a standard because he asked this question.
I don't usually post in these forums but when I saw that I burned because that poor brother is once again a victim of this teaching that we are somehow in lack or somehow not perfect, but in Christ have we been made perfect and are being made perfect not by works but through faith in the Son of God. His righteousness not ours.
I just want to get news and updates from a christian perspective and values. I think, I am getting tired of CNN and Foxnews as they promote and seek to induce wordly sentiments. They cause hearts to go wild with rage, panic, or despair.
Well, I actually rarely visit them, but I want to be aware on what is happening beyond what my eyes can see or my ears can hear.

just that paren'ed sentence, the use of the word "pretext" implies a sort of falseness in my words, bookended by putting agape in quotes, and buttoning it all with "of course".

"burned?"...with what?....anger? at your reading of my post, and lensing it all out, as IF I would EVEN IMPLY, that a dear brother was a "less than"?
this is just terrible, and again, underlines, in my OWN walk with God, how I have to flee this forum...because you do not know me....what I wrote to that brother was based on my experience reading "Christian news" is that most of those sites, are just babylonic religionists misusing this Most Holy Faith and marrying the Faith, with the dictates of "Babylon"..."empire"...and in these last several years, my heart is torn in two, because reading the words of "north American evangelicals", and then watching "imam's" translated "sermons"....and then hearing of these witless fleshlings of my own tribe of my flesh, who in their madness, wish to tear down the Al-Aksa mosque, and then to "rebuild the Third temple"...(and then of course, reading about "nationalistic" hindu's and Buddhists, murder and burn..literally , those in their countries, who don't "fall in line").....and the THREAD that connects ALL of this utter hell and fleshly mayhem is the dark heart of the religionist....and I am NOT accusing any dear soul HERE of that...but cognizant of that terrible dynamic, is why I answered that dear brother as I did....so you have "burned", and you can have the proverbial "last word", because I am fleeing this forum, God love you...all of you, neil

My first reaction to op was something like Neil said, but I realized that that would not help you. Martyr is right, our speech should be always to help and lift up the other person.
I am not an expert in news, politics, and agencies, but as a Christian I am committed to truth. So here is what I do:
I always try to get both sides of a story, try to pay attention only to the facts about events. I do not listen to more than the headlines from major news agencies, when I don't understand something I make my own "research". I try to get unofficial report from eyewitnesses, I take everything with a grain of salt. I do not have tv, but I listen to christian radio often in the car. Even that when it gets political, and biased I can sense it, sometimes I feel that it only wants to stir up emotions in me, I exercise discernment about these. I question everything, and do not accept except I have proof (proof can include reason as well as the confirmation of the HS and the scriptures). As you see for me forming an opinion is a work and a practice to be a christian. After I formed my opinion trying to base it on facts and unbiased reason (here I need prayer and the HS not to be biased and always clean in my intentions, and the blood of Christ that washes me from all my sins, and the person of Christ who is the truth) I may listen to commentaries Christian or not Christian but do not open myself to them too much. I try to prove everything and keep what's good. This is how I try not to follow men but Christ. I think if we try to get prechewed information, we are in danger to be deceived. As for your desire to get unbiased information, I understand and share that desire, however I don't think we can take that information in fully from men who preprocess it for our consumption.
I don't necessarily have a 'fave' but I do check out the Christian Post on occasion. I look at Christian Headlines every now and again, too.
Pretty much, as I read, the so-called Christian news sites just re-run content off secular news outlets and add some features here and there about churches, ministries, famous or not-so-famous ministers, etc.
There is no real "news" site about the true church around the world. SI comes as close as anything I know.
How would a christian judge what event or part of that event is worth reporting and how is he going to to report it, brutally factual, opinionated, use or not use literary technique to catch the viewer's attention and emotion.
I think being paid as a reporter, segment writer, or a commentator for a news agency demands a quota. You have to write or say something even beyond your expertise before the deadline to keep it going. And with that pressure, many careless blunders and imprudence are committed.
Then there are biases and agendas that skew the literary content for their own purposes or even for the destruction of the opposition.
At times I am deeply troubled by the reports. It stirs me to strongly voice my opinion, but then I am reminded as a christian to turn my burden into fasting. Almost a silent fasting, I am confused on what to pray or how should I go about it but just fast until I am at ease.
I agree with you 100%, good advice about fasting, I learned to disregard opinions when they use an inappropriate tone or are overbearing. I listen to Christians with more openness than to non Christians, I have favorite you tubers analyzing events, and Christians whose opinion I trust, I like to listen to them when they base their opinion on the Bible. These are not news agencies, and their words are opinions only but they shape my thinking such as SI. I often listen to atheists as well as believers, to see a wide range of opinions, I know their biases so I calculate that in before I believe anything.
Well first of all, "blessed are the unoffendable for they shall be chill". It pays to develop thick skin when engaging in online banter:-)
Secondly I wish you luck in finding a site like that because most of the non mainstream so called christian news sites seem to be very kooky and "out there". I read Fox News, not the opinion pieces, just the news stories to keep up with what's going on around the world. I used to read the Drudge report too which is pretty good. I tend to like Matt Walsh's articles about current events and he is now a writer for The Blaze which may or may not be your cup of tea.
I am not promoting, nor am I saying it is my favorite news reporting network, but I am simply saying that I do turn to CBN often for world news as well as other news.

I am by no means a "news junkie" and I tend to try and avoid feeding on them as my inner man becomes leaner and leaner the more I engage, however I don't believe we are to bury our heads in the sand either.
I've found TruNews with Rick Wiles to be a go to when I need to scan the headlines and be made aware of what is going on without being fed a bias. Here is their mission statement directly from their website:

I would also highly recommend World News Briefing which is a program aired live on His Channel and it covers current events and global news from a prophetic standpoint. This is probably my favorite to watch. You can watch past episodes also, just google world news briefing, his channel.
