"so please share, and it is such an encouraging to see what God is speaking to you/us everyday!"i ran across a verse the other day that has really been on my heart.."one thing i have desired of the Lord, that will i seek: that i may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple." ps. 27:4...how often i need to be reminded not to lose sight of the One thing and the One thing alone...Jesus Christ. at times, i simply need to put aside all things of religious matter, spiritual things, all others opinions, etc. so that i may focus on the beauty of the Lord.thanks for the link to Christ notes, brother..what a blessing! :-)in Him,arielle

This one has been encouraging to me since I read it a few weeks ago.mark 1:40-42 A man with leprosy[f] came to him and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean." Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. This has been an amazing addition to my prayer life. It has given me more confidence and helped me surrender more to him than trying to do things myself.-Luke

"But get up and stand on your feet; for this purpose I have appeared to you, to appoint you a minister and a witness not only to the things which you have seen, but also to the things in which I will appear to you..." Acts 27:16Jesus reveals Himself to us for a reason, namely "to appoint you...a witness". I love to be just with Jesus through reading His word and prayer. To be at rest with Him and cast all my burdens on Him and really realizing that I'm speaking with God Almighty Himself. And at times He gives us a glance of His greatness and we stand in awe for Him. However, a revelation of Jesus is always followed by a call : "But get up and stand on your feet".What also struck me about this verse, is that it says "not only to the thing which you have seen, but also to the things in which I will appear to you...". We don't get one revelation of Jesus in our whole life and that's it. No, we receive many more. And how do we receive them? "Seek Me and you shall find Me" (Jeremiah 29:12-13, Proverbs 8:17). Just as Salomo got a revelation from God when he offered sacrifices to God. Just as Peter went up the roof to pray and got a vision from the Lord.Lord, help me to live with You more consciously. To realize that You truly are God Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. That I may give heed to Your lovingkidness (Ps 107:43). That I, just like the Apostle Paul, fully aware of reality, can say and witness that I have received help from God to this very day (Acts 26:22).Another verse I got this morning, was this one:" Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."Isaiah 26:3Be blessed,Paulp.s. by the way...I started a similar thread a while ago. Feel free to check it out and share your verses as well: Great Bibleverses

Paul, great idea! Love this, absolutely love it, how much more we ought to be wrestled with the text than... :-? Interesting that you brought up Isaiah, just listened through the book over the weekend and besides the more obvious, the subtle prophecy's tied to the Lord throughout. Isa 65:2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! But the one that really stuck in the marrow and I know there is different renderings, perhaps a study of the word is needed but...Isa 53:10 Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for sin, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. (ESV)Know that the KJV has 'bruise', but the thought's came of the olive press and the 'crushing' inwardly even more so or intensified by the physical...Bruise (from Strongs)H1792דּכאdâkâ'daw-kaw'A primitive root (compare H1794) to crumble; transitively to bruise (literally or figuratively): - beat to pieces, break (in pieces), bruise, contrite, crush, destroy, humble, oppress, smite.

"Men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain" 1 Timothy 6:5There's no such thing as serving Christ 12 hours every day. If I am holding on to Him, only because my life benefits from it and I like it, this attitude will ultimately "rob me of the truth" (NIV). "You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men." 1 Corinthians 7:23

Galatians 5:16-17"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."ye shall not...i love this verse so much and it shows, the more you walk with Jesus, the more you will be like Him.but there are so many things around us, that distract us, and say "he you can enjoy this, and have pleasure in this, and have some of that"turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful Face, and the things of earth will grow strangely grim,in The Light of His Glory and Grace!you can only focus on on thing, if you have a bow and 1 arrow, you can only shoot 1 target.David aimed for one thing, writen in Psalm 27, and that was to dwell in His House, to gaze upon His beauty, and seek Him in His Temple!so let's abide in Him, aim for Him alone, love Him with all your heart (means no other things receive all love but Him) and the more you love Him, the more you hate sin, and stay from it.*edited: some tags*

turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful Face, and the things of earth will grow strangely grim,in The Light of His Glory and Grace!Hey brother, you listened too much to Ravenhill...He mentioned "grim", but the original text says: "dim".Never mind...the point you tried to made is clear. "You know one thing about a Man, who carried a cross out of the city, you knew He wasn't coming back" (Ravenhill quoting Tozer). This one thing I do. May this become true!Paul
